WOW!!! My fiance and I just travelled and spent the best weeked together at this FABULOUS hotel. I dont no why people have slagged it off but we have had the most magical weekend. We arrived in the evening where my fiance checked us in. I arrived shortly after him and parked just round the corner at some onstreet parking.... more

Well, after reading the reviews before our visit we were some what aprehensive due to some of the STINGING reviews! We found them to be completely unfounded............. What a fab room, very comfy beds and plenty warm enough. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly and the location, well, such a lovely place, so relaxing and peaceful. We have... more

Don't takeany notice of the rubbish written on here by some very petty and picky people! We stayed two nights in the pool room at Cardynham House and it was just great. Yes ok its not a four star Hilton, so if thats your thing then dont bother going here, but if you want a unique room in a unique... more

Noisy pipes, loo seat doesn't stay up, can't get the free wireless to work, but what the hell, I still love this place and will come again. Warm, cosy, comfortable, character, late arrival is OK, and quite cheap - why would someone stay at a Travel Inn when there are places like this? It's a little gem. more

We chose this guest house because of the pool room - we wanted to go away and stay somewhere a bit different to a normal guest house. First impressions were extremely good, the building is five hundred years old, and full of character. The staff were also extremely welcoming, despite us turning up at dinner time, when they were all... more

We found Cardynham to be a very comfortable guest house. There were no problems with heating during our stay, with our room being kept nice and warm and a cheerful log fire in the drawing room every day. Meals in the restaurant were good value, and the breakfasts were excellent. We didn't find the breakfast form filling exercise inconvenient at... more

We arrived to a nice fire in the lounge/reception area. This was the only time the fire was ever lit during our 3 night stay. Shown to our room (Palm Beach) which was great apart from the lack of heating. During our stay the heating was totally off during the night and took until gone 9am to warm up in... more

Painswick is a lovely, quaint little village & Cardynham house is the perfect place to stay to enjoy it. It is full of character & charm. We stayed in the Medieval Garden room which was absolutely charming & romantic. We loved the fact that the walls were bare plaster with a few flowers painted on them. We found it on... more

We were thinking of staying away for New Years and noticed it had a New Years menu advertised when we passed by on a walk. The hotel site looked quite good- 4 stars from the english tourist board and the photos looked nice. So we booked it. (I should have checked tripadvisor!) They only had the one room left- it... more

Very cold stay at Cardynham House. Initially no heating on until later on in the evening. Our room had no heating working in the bathroom and no bathroom light working. We had a very cold bath the first night. First morning not enough hot water for two showers. For a short stay it was a shame that we had to... more
