This place was recommended to us, and we certainly were not disappointed. We often need a couple of days away from the hustle and bustle of London and over the last 12 months tried various places in the Cotswold's. The rooms are quaint and very unique with beautifully comfortable four poster beds with the option of breakfast in bed which... More

Just to point out before I get the same snobby reply as many other people I haven't stayed here nor will I although a month of visit has to be specified to leave a review which is odd but there we go, hence I'm only commenting on their mannorism. I called up on a Saturday night bearing in mind there... More

I'm down here for my niece's wedding - never having really seen the Cotswolds, I decided to stay the weekend. Firstly - what a wonderful village Painwick is, it is beautiful with narrow streets and glorious sandy stone buildings. It's a picture and wonderfully and I expect painfully preserved. The guest house is in that same mold, beautiful, old stone... More

We were given a voucher so chose to use it at this hotel. Yes we did have to wait for a room to become available, but it was well worth it. The room was clean, yes the ensuite was a bit small but it was good enough for our needs. Staff were friendly, Breakfast was delicious ample to eat. We... More

I arrived unexpectedly early but was greeted warmly by John, the owner. Not everyone does that. I loved the room overlooking the street above the restaurant. It had an amazing four poster bed and a bathroom the size of a small tennis court. One room here even has a swimming pool. I loved Painswick and its funny church where legend... More

John, the owner, and his wife were very welcoming and helpful in pointing out places to visit and where to park in this very small town. We stayed in the medieval room which has everything you need for a short stay. It may not suit everyone as it's a 15th century building so the stairs are steep and not all... More

this stay was bought for us as a present, but there is nothing around, if you want to go shopping, you would have to drive way out. the plus side is the food was first class, and the four poster bed looked amazing, but not very comfy, and we did't sleep very well. No lift. stairs very steep, the staff... More

Stayed here June 13th,14th 2015. A lovely place to stay in a beautiful setting. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. The room we stayed in was lovely and had amazing views. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice. I cannot fault Cardynham House and will be returning for another visit. Thank you to... More

Painswick very pretty and Cardynham House itself was fantastic with evening meals (on both Friday and Saturday) done to perfection, thank you very much. Also had 2 very good breakfasts, very tasty and very hot. Staff very helpful on all occasions. Very central to many lovely places to explore, of which we did on the Saturday, catching the bus into...
