Stayed here at the end of October on our way down south. Our host Philippa was very welcoming as was her dog!!! Accommodation was clean & comfortable the breakfast delicious but the little extras were missing - very basic tea & coffee making facilities in the room(only 1 cup!!), shower gel, no brochures showing local facilities, details of whats available... While walking the Cotswold Way we stayed at Ashton House for one night. The 400 year old home is simply amazing. On arrival, we were met by the lieutenant, Stephen who said that he was not the expert and that Philipa was out and he offered us tea. We wanted to get out and see the town of Painswick, so... More

This was my first experience staying at a B&B and I was not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by Philipa. The tea that was waiting for us was much appreciated as we had just flown a long distance then drove on the narrow roads to Painswick. Philipa gave us recommendations for pubs that we could get something to eat. The... More

My wife and I had walked a comforable 12 miles from Seven Springs to Painswick on the 4th day of our Cotswold Way walk. At Painswick we stayed at Ashton House, which is a very old terraced house with lots of character. Our host Philipa was extremely friendly and welcoming. The facilities at the Ashton House are basic; creaky and... More

Ashton House is right on the Cotswold Way as it runs through the beautiful town of Painswick. Phllipa and Stephen were welcoming hosts, serving us tea in front of an open fire when we arrived on a rainy afternoon. Breakfast the next morning was also served in front of the fire. Our hosts directed us to a nearby pub for... More

We had one night in Painswick and stayed here. Fantastic! Our hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly, and the house is something else. It was filled with character and beautifully decorated. We even shared a celebratory glass of wine with our hosts following our son landing his first job. Lovely hosts and a fantastic house in a beautiful place. Highly... More

This was a true home away from home. A beautiful traditional stone Cotswolds house with large bedrooms and lovely hosts who were very helpful and made the six of us staying there feel very welcome. Breakfast was a highlight, we sat on a large table all together. There was everything you could think of including a full English breakfast every... More

Welcomed with tea, chocolate cake, chat and laughter a great way to start our stay. We are a group of 7 so filled all the available rooms. We all loved our rooms and slept well. Breakfast in the morning in front of the huge open fire place was a real treat. The dog was very well behaved and we loved... More

Ashton House is a lovely B&B run by very friendly hosts in a beautiful 17th century house. We stayed for two nights and would thoroughly recommend it. The house is very attractive and our room was lovely and big with a large comfortable bed. Each morning we had a delicious full English breakfast at a large table by the fire.... More

I recently stayed at Ashton House for a long weekend with my girlfriend. We had a fantastic time. It was a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds, fuelled by the excellent hearty breakfasts provided at Ashton House. Philippa and Stephen, the owners, were very friendly and welcoming, and the place has a really cosy homely feel about it.... More
