3 of us stayed in Bee Cottage, (The Bell's self catering (??) cottage) for one night in May 2014. Although a lovely old building, this cottage is very poorly equipped, no oven, microwave turntable didn't work, very little cooking equipment, we had to go out and but essential utensils to reheat the meal we had taken with us. The owner... More

My wife and I and her brothers visited the Bell on the evening of Wednesday 8th May, primarily because every where else was closed due to the Horse Fair in Stow on the Wold. We sat down and ordered from a young man who appeared to be new who was under the direction of a man we presumed was the... More

We haven't been here for a year or so, and as we were eating in the Italian across the road, we thought we'd call in for a drink. The chap behind the bar, who I assume was the manager, was too busy messing with his lap to even notice when he had customers. I cringed when a sole Japanese lady... More

What is a promising view from the front - the overall impression is a bit shabby and uncared for. On the plus side the greeting by the pub staff was lovely, the linen was nice and the room was large despite smelling of pub loos. No problems really but the price far exceeds the standard. Don't expect anything more than... More

My partner and I stayed at The Bell Inn with our 2 teenage children for a long weekend in February. We rented the cottage attached to the inn which has 2 bedrooms and a bed in the lounge. We also had a well equipped kitchen and shower room. The cottage is set over 3 floors and is full of character.... More

We stayed for two nights. The guy running the place was very pleasant. Room was cosy when heat left on. Bathroom was small but adequate. Really pretty converted outhouse. Bad points: The place smelled of mildew, stale water. No atmosphere in the bar at all. Place shut at 1030pm on Friday night and 11pm was last order on Sat night.... More

There are a lot of bad reviews on here, so was a little nervous about staying on New Year's Eve, especially when I saw our very small double room which only had a heater in it. We left the heater on whilst we were out for dinner, and once we came back the room was nice and warm. We stayed... More

We have just had the misfortune of walking into the bar of the Bell Inn to meet friends of ours who had the even greater misfortune of having booked in for the night so they could attend our party nearby. Where do I start???! The whole room stank of a mix of body odour and vomit and my feet stuck... More

Called in for an evening meal while staying in the area. Pub was pretty basic but had a nice log fire, Christmas decorations etc. We had heard that the food was good here and we weren't disappointed. Staff were very polite and the food was delicious so we would certainly visit again. Well done.

I read the reviews of this place and I was in two minds to stay or change, however there were no vacancies left anywhere else so I continued with my visit. I am so glad I did, I arrived and was welcomed by a very pleasant lady who showed me to my room. It was lovely, large bed with white... More
