We looked for a fairly cheap hotel/B&B in Cirencester for an overnight stay. It was this or the Fleece Hotel, we opted for this as it was cheaper and we weren’t too concerned if it was the wrong choice as we stayed just the one night. Hotel looks traditional and has a nice atmosphere to it. Restaurant and bar were... more

We had a Very disappointing stay at the Corinium, not worth the £89.00 we paid for Room 6, it was only worthy of cheap Bed and Breakfast rate! more

Sour grapes here I'm afraid as I refused to give this lady any reduction off her bill, after she was disturbed in the middle of the night by outside noise and which I regarded as being beyond our control. We are situated in a quiet part of town, so it is very unusual for here. She was also booked into...

Like almost all other hotels in the Cotswolds, this one is overpriced. Our room overlooking the street at the front was small, and very drab. Standard double bed on the firm side (which would suit some guests). Voices did carry through the walls and there was quite a lot of noise from people walking about in the room above, though... more

This particular room is a smaller double room than our others, although recently redecorated. We are adding flat screen digital TVs in all rooms this Autumn. Hot buffet breakfast is only provided at weekends, otherwise breakfast is cooked to order. We do offer a different egg dish if guests do not want scrambled. The rate of £95.00 per room including...

My wife and I visit the Cotswolds periodically and chose to explore the Cirencester area. We chose this hotel for a variety of reasons, price, a location that meant we could walk with ease into the town and to the wonderful and nearby Cirencester Park, a free car park, the availability of a twin room for our teenage daughter and... more

we have recently had our wedding at the corinium and all i can say is it was perfect. tim and his team run a friendly, beautiful, top class establishment. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. out of 60 guests we had not a single negative comment which is quite an acheivement. The food was absolutley excellent and we enjoyed... more

It's great to stay in these old hotels as they have real character. This 16 century house makes a nice hotel. Hosts were good and the room was large and comfortable. Attention to detail in the rooms brings the experience up a notch. Restaurant and pub downstairs were surprisingly good with a good dinner served (There's also the well-known Hare... more

I chose this hotel for a one night business visit to Cirencester. I would probably not choose it again. It is a warm and cosy old pub with dining facilities. The two things that let it down were no internet access which I should have realised before booking so my fault, and really poor coffee at breakfast. more

The Corinium now offers free wi-fi access.

If you are expecting luxury, you might be disappointed. If you are concerned that things may be as bad as one or two of the older reviews indicate, you are likely to be pleasantly surprised. This is a 2-star hotel in a 16th century building, which in our case meant that the windows rattled a bit and we could hear... more
