Fabulous food and service.Rooms are big and comfortable enough for two, hallways are creaky and not very wide and no elevators all stairs, but worth it for the food and not expensive.Parking (council) is out the back of hotel, not far about a 5 min walk but there is a back entrance. Amphitheater, church and great little shops. Very enjoyable stay.

Arrived and were shown to a bedroom at the front which was rather noisy from the road. Phone didn't work so had to go downstairs again to ask for a room change. The staff were very friendly and helpful and this was quickly sorted. Our new room was much quieter at the back of the hotel and the beds were... More

We popped in to the Fleece for a drink and ended up sharing a butchers platter? Just enough for 2 for a light lunch. Excellent wine , friendly staff, lovely flavours. Disappointed no tariff for accommodation or staff who couLd give us prices for rooms as at this time we were considering returning later in the year as we really... More

Thought The Fleece looked like a good place to try for dinner. We were quickly offered the last table, served drinks and given the menu. Starter - Goat's cheese & honeyed figs - very good. Starter - Crab cakes - over cooked with little flavour (I've a feeling they were not home made), with sweet chilli sauce (fairly nasty) and... More

A very pleasant two-night stay with great breakfast in a great, central location right in the heart of Cirencester on the market square. Staff were mostly very attentive (a little less so at breakfast on the second day) ; as we had no problems with our stay, we didn't have any need to call on them. The room had a... More

The Fleece has a lot of character and is in a great location in the heart of Cirencester. The rooms are about a high-end pub and restaurant. Be prepared to carry your suitcases up flights of stairs. The room was lovely (small but fine for two people) and what you'd expect above a pub. We ate the food at the... More

First impression was right - it's an odd place. There's no hotel reception to check in, you walk into a busy restaurant and check in at the bar. It was a very 'Yuppie' place full of young couples with dogs and babies. Our room was pleasant but on closer inspection there was blood on the pillow and two dirty stains... More

Good Friday arrived with nothing planned due to a busy week at work. Quick check of the what's on to find a collectables fair at Cirencester, an hour or so down the motorway. After the fair, hunger had kicked in and the first place we saw was the 'The Fleece' across the road. We managed to get a window table... More

Stayed here for one night. Room lovely but overlooked smokers courtyard and as all windows single glazed you can hear every word. Food all good, but service lacked a bit of enthusiasm - no welcome at breakfast, no "help yourself to cereals, the toaster is over there" etc. Not rude, but just could have been a little better.
