Called in with my family for a Boxing Day meal. Ordered food and drinks, staff were very welcoming and polite. Food was superb and plentiful and drinks reasonably priced. Only thing that spoiled our visit was the arrival of a large bunch of noisy, and very vocal people, in particularly 2 women who insisted at shouting across their table at... More

Superb evening meal. I chose the lemon sole one of the special's, just delicious, beautifully cooked. My husband had the lamb shank, also superb. The staff were delightful, very friendly without being to much.. Special mention for Jade a credit to The Thames Head. We return each time we go to the caravan club site, recommend it to all.

We had read the reviews and locals had recommended BUT we had to wait over an hour having been told 20 minutes and our party didn't think the food was that special. My Lamb Shank was tasty but had too much mash potatoe and miniscule vegetables. We all had long jouneys ahead so it was so frustrating. However when we... More

As the heading states I voted for this pub in their local newspaper after staying and dining there! So much so we have booked again. There is nothing at fault, the staff, the food, the accommodation, all is top grade. We were booked for one night only but were disappointed when we reached our next destination that we cancelled and... More

This was a last minute choice after a change of plans. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere so wasn't expecting too much. We were booked in for the Saturday night. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Jamie. He made us feel welcome straight away. Always got to be greeted by a happy smiling face. Firstly... More

Selected for a single overnight (mid-point meeting between Cornwall and Essex) for a visit to Westonbirt. The rooms are situated in a converted barn away from the main road and provide good clean accommodation. We ate in-house and were very impressed with the quality and presentation of all the food. Congratulations to chef and all the staff in proving that... More

Booked this as somewhere to stay while visiting friends and playing golf in the area. We booked it because it was very reasonably priced. Landlord was really helpful and the rooms are well appointed and clean, although no shower in our room, just a bath with a shower head on the taps. Bed was comfy and the bed linen fresh... More

Drop in here quite often for a pint or two and occasionally for a meal. Heartily recommended. The service is always excellent, friendly and accommodating. Dog-friendly in the bar which is very welcome. Food is similarly excellent. Really tasty, hearty, well-priced fare. You don't leave hungry. Have never stayed because I live nearby but if the rooms are anything like... More

Our group of bank holiday weekend campers consisted of 6 adults, two teenagers and two 4 year olds. It was Sunday 30th August and 1pm. Having tours Cirencester we decided on a last minute Sunday lunch. We rang around the listed Trip Advisor pubs etc. Non were able to accommodate our size or group. The Thames Inn received good reviews... More
