If you enjoy a friendly atmosphere, the pub pooch walking around welcoming everyone who comes through the door- then drop in and enjoy a drink at The Golden Cross - the choice of wine was good and the variety of beers was exceptional. We didn't eat on this occasion - but upon checking the menu choices, it is well worth... More

Staff were fantastic about directing me to the b&b, where to park etc also calling me to advise closing times etc as was at a family wedding 20 mins drive away. Shame that the room wasn't ready when I arrived (after 3pm & the bar wasn't busy!) and wasn't given a key therefore it had to be left outside for... More

A couple of points on this review - first of all the guest in question checked in in a bit of a hurry. Our check-in time is actually 4pm, and with all the rooms being turned around that day, her accommodation was not quite ready for occupancy. That said, the guest was taken to the room in order to change... More

I reserved a room for my family (2 Adults 2 kids) just after Easter. We stayed for two nights, the room was warm and cosy with big windows and a large bathroom with a powerful shower-hose, the kids had a separate room. We didn't use the downstairs restaurant as we used to leave early and coming late in the evening... More

We visited for lunch expecting to have a snack as we were cooking a planned meal in the evening. I ordered a sandwich and my husband a spicy chicken with flatbreads and a side of fries to share. The food was delicious with very high quality ingredients, and big portions. I couldn't finush mine and ended up picking out the... More

Stayed here with 2 friends to visit Christmas market. Only one night so the simple, clean accommodation promised would have been fine. Sadly it was filthy and the welcome was non existent. We didn't bother complaining as the Manager had already shown he didn't really care and we had paid in advance - we just got out of there as... More

Thanks for that. It does seem strange that it's taken three months to review my b&b. However, your points are ( mostly ) well made. The shower door in question has since been replaced ( we are sometimes at the mercy of our landlords ) and I have taken issue with my housekeeping staff, following your photos, which i would... More

I stayed here with 3 mates for 3 nights during this years Cheltenham Festival. Mark, Justin, Clare and the rest of the staff (plus Franklin & Bob) could not have made us more welcome. The rooms were clean and well serviced, the shower was excellent. Breakfast was huge and very good. The pub is in an excellent location in town... More
