Very disappointed with our stay. The bathroom smelt of dirty drains, the customer service was terrible and we would not stay here again. We stayed directly above the pub and the duke box went off full blast at 7am and continued until gone 8am after we spent the hour trying to find someone to turn it off. The land lady... More

Had a drink here with friends after a meal in nearby restaurant. Very friendly staff and great choice of ales. Quite a busy and vibrant place, but quitened down after 10pm. Even though sports tvs were present, they did not overwhelm the place. Did not realise they had accommodation, would definitely look into that on our next visit.

Called in the Black Horse for a drink early Friday evening. The space inside is surprising (large and open) for such an old building and some of the original character and charm must have been removed over the years but it is still a decent atmosphere. The bar staff were very pleasant and served good quality real ales. We didn't... More

The pub was a stop over for lunch and we were delighted that we chose to eat here! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu had a good choice and even a buy one get one free menu (12pm - 5pm, Monday to Friday). The food was freshly prepared to order and was delicious! The staff were very... More

I've been searching for a great cosy pub in Cirencester with good food and I found it today. I vowed to try as many places as possible in Cirencester but it'll be difficult not to come back here for lunch everyday! Staff were nice and friendly and helpful, food (fish and chips) was in good time and tasted great despite... More

I usually pop in for a drink or for the pub quiz but recently decided to grab some food as a friend recommended it. So glad I did!! Massive portions of fantastically cooked food. Good old fashioned pub grub

My partner, a friend and I shared a 'triple' room at The Black Horse for one night. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by exceptionally friendly staff and the cheery manager, Mandy who showed us to a lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean room with a huge shower room and WC. They had even kept the curtains closed to... More

Two bar staff, who didn't seem to be bothered or even realise that two out of three beers were in terrible nic.....including the Brakspears Special, normally such a great beer. Hobgoblin was the only one left for me to have.....not my favourite beer. This beer was flat and lifeless. Marston's sort it out !!
