We stopped here last night en route to visiting relatives and had a good welcome and also a very good breakfast this morning. The room was adequate but cold for quite sometime even though the heating had just kicked in on arrival. Decor a little tired although room was attractive with many pictures/paintings but the beds were not the most... More

I have family in Cheltenham and over the years have stayed at the Cheltenham Guest House with my wife when we visit. The place does have a number of positives: we like to support local business rather than inter/national chains, it’s situated close to relatives, there’s always room when we book, and we only stay for one night at a... We stayed in this guest house on a Saturday night. I have read in previous reviews that the welcome is not friendly but this was not our experience. .. found landlady polite and businesslike. .. room was great. .. big tv. . Amazing shower. . Yes sink in bedroom but that's not a problem. Liked the touch of a couple... More

I was relieved to see in the below reviews that the landlady had nothing against me personally, she is just very unwelcoming to everybody. She would have an fitting personality for a truck driver, but running a B&B requires way too much interaction for her. Her husband was a bit better at least. The guest house itself was better but... Upon arrival to this b&b we immediately felt awkward and as if we were inconveniencing the owners. I have stayed in several bed and breakfasts and this is he absolute first time I felt uncomfortable talking with the owners. The rooms are average at best, but sufficient. It was suitable for a night but I don't think I would've been... More

Our experience bears no comparison to the unfavourable reviews below. I found the owners to be friendly, helpful and accommodating. The guesthouse is situated in a quiet road within 15-20 minutes walk of the town centre. You enter though a delightful garden which would have been a pleasure to sit out in had the weather permitted. My themed room was... More

Visiting Cheltenham for the Ukulele Festival we enjoyed a very pleasant two night stay here. We received a warm welcome and helpful advice about the area. Our en-suite room was a good size, clean and nicely furnished. The bed was large and comfy and sent me to sleep in minutes. Even though the guesthouse was full for the festival our... More

It's such a shame that most of the reviews of this B&B have a common theme - the unfriendliness of the landlady; her unswerving attitude to customers and her seeming inability to be able to interact with customers in, what is after all, a customer service industry. It is also incredible that these reviews go back SIX YEARS - and... More

I stayed here the night before my wedding in 2012 with my bridesmaids, and thought it was just okay, but the landlady was a little brusque. We decided to try the place again a year later and wished we hadn't bothered! The room is basic but nicely themed, although the bed was very soft and uncomfortable. The towels were extremely... More

Frankly, I don't consider my response rude. Standard beds like aircraft seats are not designed for all shapes and sizes and a combined weight of 40 stone + might make any bed normally considered "comfy" then feel uncomfortable. Furthermore, some guests, such as bankers, feel they are entitled to special treatment and are disgruntled if they do not receive it.... More
