Have stayed here many times before, but this is my first review! Had booked through a last-minute website the day before and got a very reasonable rate. On arrival, was told the booking had only just come through, so was offered an upgrade which was nice. I would echo many of the comments made - lovely atmosphere about the place,... More

I stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend and my first impressions were that this is an impressive old style building with plenty of character. It certainly was. Afetr parking in the car park to the side of the hotel which is barrier controlled. Dont forget to have your exit ticket when you check out. Entry at the front... More

Visiting Cheltenham for the Jazz festival in 2012, my husband and I went for a 2 night stay at the Mercure Queen's Hotel. Great location for central Cheltenham, we parked in the onsite, free parking facilities and arrived at our hotel. The reception desk is rather small, and manned by one person so in busy periods beware, but we checked... More

Excellent location, and a building with character, but the standard of service was surprisingly poor -- and I say that as someone who doesn't normally mind roughing it on business trips. I was given a modest-sized room with a view of the building next door and the creakiest floorboards of any hotel I have stayed in. Every board groaned underfoot,... More

Have travelled many times on the A40 West Wales to London, to save 10 miles of travelling, knew how to avoid Cheltenham by taking a B road from Gloucester, many times have passed through Cheltenham by rail, have never visited this place until a month ago. decided to stay three nights, to cut the rail journey on my way to... I stayed at The Queens last night following a recent refurbishment of the rooms. My room although small - 132 was very well refurbed but the biggest improvement was the quality of the room service food. Very very good and prompt. More

We stayed here for 2 nights in April and my wife and I actually disagreed on the hotel. Firstly, she loved it for its character, and was prepared to overlook some of its failings, as she was delighted with its individuality and charm, which I admit it has in abundance. It also has an excellent position in Cheltenham, within easy... More

I stay at this hotel regularly on business. It is friendly enough and the staff are professional. Slightly impersonal feel to the place, but that's what you get in hotels used for business. The rooms are large comfortable and clean and based around an impressive staircase. There are good restaurants and pubs within walking difference. There is no gym. The... More
