I know its Good Friday and busy, busy, busy but just over an hours wait for steak and chips without a sorry for the wait or is everything okay with your meals is really not very customer friendly. Maybe they think as your just a tourist it doesn`t matter but that's why i felt the need for this review as we weren`t... More

We recently visited the Duke of Wellington whilst on a weeks holiday to Bourton. We have visited the pub on many occassions, the one before this visit being in December. The food has always been excellent and the service fantastic.Apart from the food being good the beer is rated as the best in Bourton by my fellow holiday makers ( I do... Just had to say - best pie and chips I've had in a pub for a while! Roaring fire, friendly staff, delicious food. Had failed to get a seat in a pub with a 'river' view but the pie more than made up for that.

Lunchtime in the dog days of January.Even Bourton on the Water looked bedraggled.I guess I had hoped for something imaginative but that is linked to skills and wages. If its low on both counts then 'nuff said. Why do so many pubs do the same predictable menu ? Yes my poached salmon was of generous proportions (should have been at £12,45) but... More

Many thanks for taking the time and effort to provide us with your views on our establishment. I am sorry that you found it to lack imagination and providing the "same old pub grub menu". A lot of time and thought goes into our menu each year and the factors which govern what is sustainable and achievable given the facilities... More

We had visited the Pub previously when staying at the Dial House opposite and was sorry we hadn't booked here to stay! I understand it's now under new management as well. A lovely Pub traditionally run and providing customers with good food in a lovely atmosphere. We couldn't have been made more welcome. The Staff were lovely, polite and so... More

We did not stay at the hotel but went for dinner on a Saturday night. We had been in the village through the day and the staff suggested booking might be a good idea on a Saturday, but although it was quite busy this would not really have been necessary. The menu was fairly varied, basic pub grub. The staff... More

We have just returned from a walking weekend in Bourton-on-the-Water, where we stayed at the Duke of Wellington Hotel with our Beagle and two friends. We had an excellent stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the rooms were comfortable and well equipped with toiletries provided and tea/coffee with biscuits (most welcome after a long day's walking!). We decided... We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night in room 5. I know it's a pub so you expect hear some noise but this was so bad we could hear every word the people in the pub below we're saying as though we were in room with them - we could even tell they had Birmingham accents! Friday night... More

We stayed here for three nights beginning 1st September. Rooms were very small though clean and fairly well presented and in keeping with the age of the building. Beds were incredibly soft though I personally found it really difficult to sleep due to the rooms being very warm.....duvet way too heavy for the time of year. Plenty of hot water... More
