We stopped here for lunch and found the food and service very good. The weather was wet so we wanted something warm. Dogs welcome, and food tasty, only disappointment was the gravy. A bit think and lumpy. Burgers cooked well and a good choice of food available. Quick service and plenty of space inside to get comfy with a dog.... More

We had a fabulous weekend, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, there was some noise as our room was above the bar but we were staying in a pub after all and once the bar had closed we slept really well, the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate dinner at the pub... More

My husband and I ate here on a Sunday evening. We have been to Bourton on the Water many many times and eaten in most pubs/restaurants in the town. This was our first visit to this pub. Not much to look at from outside. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the pub on entering. Lovely greeting on... More

My husband and myself stayed in Room 3 and although a couple of steps in the room to the bathroom, room was fine but there again we did not go back drunk! Staff well friendly and helpful and food great ~ i was a bit concerned reading a couple of comments but really enjoyed our stay ~ well done Guys... More

Whilst the hotel is in an exceptional location by the river, the room and meal I had were by far the most dissapointing I can recall. I had room 3 which had one major H&S issue and six minor defects, which individually I would have ignored, but collectively show a complete lack of attention to routine care and maintenance. I... Many thanks for taking to time to write your review. In response to your comments I would just like to highlight that you have been a very economical with the truth and I would question your views regarding health and safety. I will not dispute that a door handle was loose on the wardrobe however you other complaints were simply... More

Nice old pub. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We booked two nights bed and breakfast but were offered a good deal to include one two course evening meal. We had dinner with friends. Food was plentiful. Good pub food (restaurent prices though). Bill was a bit confused but got sorted in the end. Good beer. Our room had a... More

Had a wonderful one night stay at this pub. Smart clean and friendly . Had the choice of upgrading from bed and breakfast to dinner as well. We took them up on this as it saved us looking round for somewhere to eat. The food was lovely as was breakfast. Room was nice and clean, even though the tv and... More

We recently visited the Duke of Wellington whilst on a weeks holiday to Bourton. We have visited the pub on many occassions, the one before this visit being in December. The food has always been excellent and the service fantastic.Apart from the food being good the beer is rated as the best in Bourton by my fellow holiday makers ( I do... Just had to say - best pie and chips I've had in a pub for a while! Roaring fire, friendly staff, delicious food. Had failed to get a seat in a pub with a 'river' view but the pie more than made up for that.

Lunchtime in the dog days of January.Even Bourton on the Water looked bedraggled.I guess I had hoped for something imaginative but that is linked to skills and wages. If its low on both counts then 'nuff said. Why do so many pubs do the same predictable menu ? Yes my poached salmon was of generous proportions (should have been at £12,45) but... More

Many thanks for taking the time and effort to provide us with your views on our establishment. I am sorry that you found it to lack imagination and providing the "same old pub grub menu". A lot of time and thought goes into our menu each year and the factors which govern what is sustainable and achievable given the facilities... More
