We were a party of eight. The entrance of the house was scruffy, broken plant pots, dirty threadbare mats. First impressions count!! We stayed from Monday to Friday and encountered the following:- The cards for opening the front door and bedroom doors were unreliable sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. The dishwasher failed on the second day but was repaired.... More

I booked Halford House as it promised to be a luxury weekend retreat for a special family occasion, sadly it was far from it. The house has been half-heartedly converted from a b&b and lacks the wow factor that is portrayed in some of the photos online. Don't be fooled by the impressive exterior and location, the interior is tired... More

Overall, we think we paid double of the room rate at comparable B&Bs in Bourton-on-the-Water. Our friends stayed at a nearby B&B which had a comparable room and better breakfast, and paid $100 per night. We paid $200. Bourton is so small that the location really doesn't matter, and it's not like Halford House has a stellar location. So we're... More

Firstly, let me cover the location. Having spent a good new days exploring the other "top locations" in the Cotswolds - you really would find it difficult to find a better located B&B in a more scenic and beautiful part of the Cotswolds. The professional pictures look something special, but the luxury corner baths and spacious room shots did not... More

My significant better half booked Halford House for me for my birthday. At over £100 per night I can't say it's the best value for money I've ever had - maybe because Bourton is a bit of a touristy hotspot they such can charge such rates?? On the plus side the location is nice and central, the house itself has... More

I was given a one night stay at Halford House for a birthday treat from my wife,I must say I did find the manager (Mandy) very welcoming as we arrived early evening , She showed us around the Hotel and our room which was quite cosy but immaculate, and stylish with first class en-suite shower room. Mandy was very informative... More

A agree with all the reviewers who felt "short changed" by the experience of Halford House. It has a great location, with a nice property and friendly staff; which should make the experience extremely pleasant. But given the price, the whole experience was disappointing and at times infuriating for our party. Running out of food at breakfast is frankly ridiculous... More

The room we stayed in was beautiful and spacious; the bathroom was great (though we had to man-handle the plug out of the bath after each time we used it); the bed was very comfortable indeed; and you really can't fault the location - very central; and the staff were very friendly. There was one packet of biscuits between the... More
