Set in beautiful surroundings our 1st night Sat outside having a drink at the front of the hotel was very pleasant so we decided to return the following evening for a meal, however things began to disappoint fairly quickly' staff looked miserable and seemed hassled, we waited ages for a waitress to take our order, and I think this only happened... Overall we were not happy with our stay. We stayed here for 2 nights and we felt that £185 for a two night stay was expensive for the quality of the hotel. The hotel seemed very dated and in need of a good clean, our room was extremely small, the bathroom was so small that the shower door slammed against... More

We returned for our twentieth wedding anniversary as it was one of our first weekend breaks pre children. Although the decor and ambience remained the same the service was not! We had booked a table for dinner, which on arrival took a good ten minutes before somebody even acknowledged we were there. It was then over an hour before the... More

Thank you for taking the time in your recent feedback. The Old Manse is an historic building, where issues pertaining to maintenance can occur rapidly and without prior warning, which was the case on the evening of your stay where we experienced a sudden and catastrophic plumbing fault on our 1st floor. I am glad to hear that the staff... More

After reading the reviews I told my husband not to expect to much of this hotel. We spent 16 days in the UK and stayed one night at The Old Manse. I honestly was pleasantly surprised. We had the top floor room that over looked the court yard and river with a king size bed and we left our windows... More

One of the top 5 worst hotels I have ever stayed. Let me preface this by saying I booked and payed in advance for two nights through Orbitz. We stayed one. The room was small, moldy, neither sink or bath didn't empty, furniture was broken paint spattered on carpet and to top it off, a really foul smell. And before... More

The Old Manse is in a beautiful location, but the hotel needs a lot of work and a good clean. We were given room 6, dirty and the furniture was badly damaged, so we asked for another room and were given 11 which was not much better. A member of staff said only half of the hotel had been updated... More

Only stayed one night but could have done with longer. 4 poster bed comfortable , good bathroom. Staff excellent, friendly and welcoming. Food was good and plentiful. We only judge hotels on what they are and not what we think they should be. If you want better than this then book 5 star..

My husband and I spent four nights here in May and had a wonderful time. The town is beautiful and very busy. On the whole the staff at the hotel were attentive and provided an excellent service. REVIEW OF “THE OLD MANSE” HOTEL, BOURTON ON THE WATER, GLOUCESTERSHIRE (Visited May 2014) The Old Manse Hotel is situated in a beautiful setting on a corner, overlooking the river. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Old Manse is a delightful English country inn overlooking the river Windrush, which flows gently through the centre of this picture-postcard Cotswold village. You can enjoy exploring this historic area of outstanding natural beauty with a stroll around the quaint little village of Bourton or simply curl up in front of a roaring log fire. Our rooms are all en-suite, where their size and layout do reflect the historic nature of our building, great for short stays and as a base to explore this beautiful location. Some of our rooms are located in the Old Manse Cottage, a short distance from the main building, but equally full of quirky features. A great selection of food and drink is available from our restaurant and bar. Guests should be aware that our car park is limited, however our team are always willing to assist guests with luggage and finding local alternate parking facilities. ... more   less
