We call the Chester House our "home away from home" when we stay in the Cotswolds. Comfortable rooms, with fair prices. The English Breakfasts are wonderful. We always enjoy afternoons or evenings in the bar/lounge where we meet interesting guests. The Chester house is an easy drive from Heathrow and a great place for us to base out of for 5... More

The location is the major benefit of this small hotel and this probably makes up for any deficiencies. A very short walk to the eating places in Bourton and a short car journey to many other Cotswold delights. Car parking on site is a big benefit even if the spaces are tight. After a brusque reception the staff were all... More

We chose a 'better' double room for our two night stay. It was large and equipped with a sofa as well as a king sized bed. The decor was not to my taste (purple and beige stripes?), and much of the paintwork (also beige) needed to be touched up. The bathroom was absolutely miniscule, with nowhere to put toiletries, and... More

We stayed here by accident when the hotel we were booked into double booked, so fixed this for us. A really happy mistake for us as it's a lovely hotel, with amazing staff. The room we stayed in was lovely, the bathroom was awesome and the facilities were great. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food... More

Attractive Cotswoldian hotel located in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water - ideally located for visiting other areas in the Cotswolds. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Bedroom nicely finished, very well serviced and clean. Bathroom okay but a bit tired in places, nothing that some quick maintenance wouldn't address. Breakfast was excellent though on one occasion, when arriving at breakfast at 9.00... More

We stayed here for four nights from 8th September. The room was lovely and well maintained. The staff at the hotel were all extremely friendly and welcoming. We ate in both the restaurants, and they were both very good. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Very comfy and clean room, towels, bed and facilities. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to help. Would recommend. Great evening meals as well with both restaurants. Our favourite stay of the holiday.

We stayed for only one night in March 2014, the accommodation, the staff, everything was brilliant. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, couldn't fault it. Gluten free dishes available and very tasty! The hotel were very flexible about the car parking too, we arrived early on Saturday and left late on Sunday and parking in Bourton isn't vast... More

We were room 20 which backs on to the kitchen, so unfortunately there was a lot of banging and crashing. Plus people coming and going in car parkTwin beds were narrow 2.6 instead of 3ft , TV reception terrible, no ITV at all ! & Wifi poor...on positive, room was clean and the bathroom was lovely, staff friendly & helpful,... A lovely place to stay and the room was beautifully decorated. The staff were very helpfully and friendly. We would definitely stay again. There are lots of places to drink tea and eat cake nearby. The hotel has an Italian restaurant which serves tasty pizza and great burgers.
