The Larks Rise owned by Barb and Bill sits a short walk from the idyllic town of Bourton-on-the-water. Food, location, rooms and facilities are all excellent, but what makes this guest house truly outstanding is welcome and the feeling that you are visiting friends during your stay. This business is truly a labour of love for both Bill and Barb,... More

Just returned from a lovely weekend away in the Cotswolds, mainly thanks to this wonderful B&B. Barb and Bill are simply fantastic hosts; there is a really personal touch to their service and you genuinely feel like nothing is too much trouble for them. Frequently this weekend they have gone above and beyond normal B&B service, such as providing space... More

The welcome from Bill and Barbara was warm, sunny and informal and we were immediately put at our ease. The room we were shown to was tastefully done with a nice combination of modern and antique and had a large, exceptionally comfortable bed. There was also a really nice array of thoughtful touches that really made you feel appreciated, toiletries,... More

My wife and I stayed at Larks rise last week in the Mungo Park room. Very well appointed with a comfy bed, well thought out layout of power points, (even one at chest height next to the mirror for kettle and ladies hair drier etc. A first in my experience!) There is also an electric heater for those chilly nights.... More

Lovely B+B. Owners were so friendly. Couldn't do enough to help. Very clean, comfy bed, nice big garden, good choice at breakfast (full english, smoked salmon, yogurt, cereals, fruit) and a 10 min walk to Bourton. Perfect weekend.

We have just returned from a lovely break at Larks Rise [Larks Wing] - the apartment was perfect, nicely decorated and every possible convenience. We thoroughly enjoyed the small patio area early evening, enjoying the sun and a glass of cold white wine prior to our walk into Bourton. The first morning we took advantage of "breakfast in a basket",... More

We booked into Lark's Rise initially for 4 nights. Immediately, we saw that it was just perfect for our needs and extended our stay for two more nights. A fortnight later, after exploring other parts of England, we came back for three more nights. Perhaps this is recommendation enough! The rooms were so comfortable with all the amenities we needed... Stayed a couple of nights in the Mungo Park room. Very nice cosy room, great bed and bathroom. All very clean. Bill & Barbara were very friendly and helpful. Barbara gave us all the information we needed when we arrived on where to eat, drink, places to visit and small tips such as taking a torch with us for the... More

We stayed in Larks Wing this is a near perfect accommodation, spotless, comfortable, a bed to die for and such a lovely couple . I do have one criticism & this is only because we have a log burner roaring most the day in our household & the fact that I have water instead of blood running through my veins... More

So sorry to hear you were cold! Had you told me at the time I would have dealt with the problem straight away - we have plenty of extra radiators. There is also another electric radiator upstairs in Larks Wing for the use of our guests. I shall make sure we put in a larger one ready for the cooler... More

Thank you Bill & Barbara for a fabulous welcome. We stayed 2 nights in the B&B and then 4 nights in the Flat which we can honestly say was perfect. The location, food and accommodation were first class as were the hosts. On arrival we were offered a lovely cup of tea then shown to our room which was spacious,... More
