What a lovely weekend we had in Dedham and out stay in the Sun Inn last Saturday was excellent! Lovely rooms and wonderful food, served by very friendly and attentive staff. We certainly will be recommending the Sun to our friends and hope to make a return visit in the not too distant future. I cannot understand the negative reviews... more

This is my local pub and I have eaten here many times but this is the first time I have stayed in the hotel. The rooms are Country 5 Star, the staff so helpful and the Oak Room is a great place to host a party with fine wines and delicious canapes. more

We have just had a very disapponting lunch at the Sun inn in Dedham.... They have No childrens menu even though they advertise they do on there website. We ordered pasta with tomato & basil & which was a small portion & charged £6.50, which i find disgusting, as nearly everywhere else you go you can get 2 course &... more

I am sorry to here that this reporter found their lunch very disappointing. Especially given the thanks they gave as they left and the fact that the slop was eaten and not sent back. A couple of points; 1. There were four vegetarian dishes on the menu. Antipasti. Jerusalem Artichoke Soup. A Bruschetta of Cannellini Beans, Roast Tomateos, Ceps, Baked...

Booked the Sun as a country treat, 2 nights BB and evening meal. Slightly scuffed and squeaky old pub, but our room (Wards) is spacious.has deeply cossetting bed and power shower, and some elegant touches. staff were, without exception, welcoming and enthusiastic. Breakfast ticked all the boxes, with good coffee, fresh juice, lovely breads and jams. BUT. Dinner on both nights... more

We met in the cosy lounge off the bar and next to the wonderful fire where we had drinks and nibbles before going to our large, comfortable round table with plenty of room for 9 (or more). The food leaned towards Italian but all the produce, meat, fish and cheese appeared to be sourced locally. The atmosphere and the waiting... more

just returned from a 4 night stay at the Sun. Wonderful room - beautiful linens and toiletries. Staff very accommodating and friendly, breakfast was great - loved the fresh strawberries and raspberries. Ate there twice in the evening with family staying elsewhere in the village - both occasions food was excellent and although the service was a bit slow (they... more

This is our fifth year of visiting The Sun and, yet again, we weren't disappointed. This is a beautiful spot to visit and a great place to stay. Fantastic walks followed by R&R at The Sun. The rooms are spacious and quirky, with nice attention to detail, such as the handmade toiletries, the magazines in the bathroom and the eclectic... more

Finally i have stumbled upon a place that seems to have it all, Great food, Great service and all in beautiful surroundings. The menu sounded delicious and it was well balanced with a strong Italian theme, definately something for everyone. It took us ages to decide what to have knowing that whatever I chose I would end up with plate... more
