This is our fifth year of visiting The Sun and, yet again, we weren't disappointed. This is a beautiful spot to visit and a great place to stay. Fantastic walks followed by R&R at The Sun. The rooms are spacious and quirky, with nice attention to detail, such as the handmade toiletries, the magazines in the bathroom and the eclectic... more

Finally i have stumbled upon a place that seems to have it all, Great food, Great service and all in beautiful surroundings. The menu sounded delicious and it was well balanced with a strong Italian theme, definately something for everyone. It took us ages to decide what to have knowing that whatever I chose I would end up with plate... more

Amazing we ve found a regular place to eat and stay. This is the first place we have stayed with our 3 year old daughter that actually catered for a family with small child. We live in London and Dedham is about 1 hour from us and directly off the A12. The staff including manager Rebecca were incredibly friendly and... more

We entered the restaurant just before 2 to be told that no tables were available in the fairly empty restaurant, so we had to eat in the bar. There were tables set and several people came in, but there was plenty of space There were quite a number of staff, but all seemed vacuous, or looking that they didn't have... more

I am very sorry to hear that your experience of lunch here on Sunday was not to your satisfaction. I am sorry that the kitchen sent out the incorrect dish but it was rectified almost immediately. It is our normal practice to offer something to make amends for mistakes and again, I am sorry that this was not done. At...

An extremly comfortable and enjoyable weekend. We ate for both lunch and dinner around the bar and it was excellent rustic food, backed up by good service. The staff were very helpful to cater for all our needs. The breakfast was superb with a full English breakfast as well as fresh bread and croissants, and a freshly made fruit sald... more

The Sun Inn at Dedham is exactly what it says it is- an old coaching inn/ pub with five rooms. It is a very relaxed place with extremely helpful and proficient young staff. Be aware though, it seems only the manageress can take room bookings so if she is not available you must wait for her to call you back.... more

We stayed there for one night..£170 with brekkie and dinner. We stayed in the Wards room. Was sooo noisy as its just above the pub. This is not mentioned in the website at all !!! So pls be aware of this. Secondly, I feel the dinner was just average standard and not worth the additional £40. Short summary, I think... more

We spent three nights here and found everything excellent. Our room, Wards, was large and tastfully decorated with a superking size bed, lovely bed linen and flat screen TV/DVD. The shower in the bathroom was enormous with great pressure. There were lovely handmade bath products available. Attention to detail in the overall make up of the room was what made... more

The Sun Inn is a quaint village pub in the picturesque village of Dedham in Essex with 4 rooms over the pub being the accommodation. The websites pictures of the rooms and their descriptions led us to believe that although at £130 ( London prices) we were staying in sumptuous surroundings and we took our chances. Maybe we just got... more

The room was great. The welcoming flowers, champagne and chocolcate were a nice touch. We found the bed really comfortable. The menu, quality of food and service excllent, really helpful and thoughtful. Ollie, the manager is great, friendly and we appreciated the gesture of champagne to celebrate a special occasion. more
