My partner and I stayed here on Saturday 27th June. In email communication booking the accommodation, Wendy said it was ok for us to arrive early and it would be ok to drop our bags. We did arrive early, Wendy literally showed us our room, opened the door for us then left us. No conversation or information was given. Felt... More

Great food, great course, great instruction and demo's and very friendly group of painters. If you paint Dedham is a must for a holiday, I am sure you will learn a lot and make good progress. Facilities are excellent. Some great places to visit and paint.

Threee on us stayed for one night over the EAster Break- aged 59 - 78 - one with mobility problems. Very helpful and friendly staff. We had 2 rooms in the annex part around the art studio. Lovely warm, clean and nicely decorated rooms. Lovely location just down the lane from Dedham High Street and only a few miles from... More

I booked two rooms about six weeks ago. Arrived on Friday the 27th only to be told only one room available. The somewhat miserable owner blamed her husband for not putting it in the book. Had scrawled my details down and forgot!!. Fortunately the sun inn had a couple of rooms and as we had stayed there before it was... More

We are so sorry that when you arrived at Dedham Hall we only had one room available when clearly you had reserved two. This is something that has never happened before and hopefully will never happen again. We were very happy that the Sun was able to accommodate you and you enjoyed your stay there. We were unable to contact... More

Stayed at Dedham Hall for one night whilst visiting family in the area. The house is extremely cosy and has lots of character. Our double room had everything we needed, including tea making facilities, a television, large comfortable bed with high quality linen, ensuite bathroom with a fantastic walk in shower, no shortage of hot water, big fluffy towels and... Ambience of the Fountain House is excellent, staff very helpful, a really very pleasant evening meal for 2 couples, pretty good value and thoroughly enjoyable experience. A discrete place for couples to dine, and off the beaten track being off the main street in old Dedham village.

We were booked into Le Talbooth for dinner and wanted somewhere to stay overnight - the prices for the hotel linked to the restaurant were ridiculous so we found the Fountain House. Very glad we found it! Beautiful house, very quiet location and very hospitable hosts. We were greeted with complimentary tea and cake, our room was gorgeous - roomy, spotless... More

An individual interesting and well run Country House with restaurant, or Guest House/Restaurant with rooms, perfect for an informal but special get together, great food, wine and service, gorgeous house with attentive owners, and the added interest of all the art courses, with lots of examples of work around the house. Great value for money in every way, can't wait... More

Any history and art lover will love Dedham Hall. The building itself has a huge amount of old world character and every wall displays beautiful artworks. On the whole the guest house offered a very homely atmosphere and the welcome afternoon tea was delicious and greatly appreciated. Meals in the restaurant were of a high quality but also quite expensive.... More

We stayed here when visiting friends in Essex. It's down a small country lane in a picturesque village. The hotel incorporates an art class/school so it was busy when we stayed, but very quiet. Great country cooking is all part of the deal.
