Apr 20, 2009 | Trip type: Family

Due to a family bereavement, my husband, myself and 11yr old son needed to find accommodation quickly in order to visit family in Seaford. As neither of us knew the area, I had a look at the reviews on here to get some idea of what was available. We chose The Avondale, Seaford. We arrived late on Good Friday to... more

We arrived at the Avondale in Seaford after a long journey. The hotel looked lovely with its window boxes and tubs . We were welcomed by Martin, who organised a tray of tea and nibbles, and then showed us to our room. Our accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the kitchen had no problem in catering... more

We arrived at the hotel earlier than normal but we had requested this in advance which was agreed. Unfortunately the room was not ready, it needed vacuuming. The room was quite large but furniture was old fashioned. The twin beds were comfortable. The en-suite bathroon with shower was cramped but adequate. When we returned to the room quite late some of... more

A lovely hotel, with nice rooms - each with a radio, TV and wireless internet connection. The staff were friendly, the price was great and the food was excellent - especially the home-made marmalade! Seaford itself is a nice town and is situated in just the right place to explore a large part of the south coast. I had a... more

A comfortable & welcoming hotel with several nice touches that you might expect from much larger establishments, but are a pleasant surprise at the smaller end of the market. Our double room was homely with a decent size ensuite & the cleanliness throughout was notably good. Breakfast was hearty & good quality while the staff were warm, friendly & very... more

On arrival to the Avondale Hotel I was warmly greeted by the hosts and other residents. The atmosphere was very homely, extremely tidy - spotless in fact! and the cozy living room was very inviting to sit in for drinks before our gorgeous sunday lunch. I was very impressed by how they catered for a variety of tastes. The food... more

We have stayed at The Avondale on a number of occasions in the last two years and have noted with pleasure the great improvements that have been made by Jane and Martin. A very friendly welcome, plenty of local information and knowledge on places to visit and where the best local restaurants are. Breakfast is very good with locally sourced... more

Had a great stay at the Avondale. The rooms were spacious and breakfast was hearty. The hotel is located close to numerous pubs and the seaside is just a stroll away. more

We have stayed a few times at the Avondale over the last two years and have noticed the fantastic improvement that Martin and Jane have made. Not just in the overall stardard of the hotel, but in small things that you don't always expect to get when staying in non-group hotels, such as bottles of still water in the bedrooms,... more
