My partner and I have recently visited the white lion as guests for a meal at a family celebration. I was somewhat surprised that the dining table was prepared in the main bar with no frills. There being no evidence of a proper set aside dining area which I am sure there must be because it is a hotel.. The... More

Stayed for the one night after attending a function here and found it to be good value for money. Nice clean room, good choice of breakfasts and lovely staff. The place was packed with locals on a Friday night and they where a great welcoming crowd. Would definitely stay again.

Dropped in here for a swift beer before going to have Sunday lunch with my brother and his wife, who live in the town. The staff were very friendly and very keen to interact with the customers. I had a pint of real ale which was pretty good, but was a wee bit heavy for a lunchtime session. I then... More

Very cheap for a single room (£40 per night); very clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. I felt confident enough to have a glass of wine by myself in the bar area. Very quiet after closing time, but wasn't bothered by the noise from the bar.

This hotel was very clean and the room was nice. We were there in July and it was very hot, so some traffic noise because the window was open. Nice bar/pub. We didn´t stay for breakfast, so I can´t say anything about that.

Stayed after coming back to England on a fairly late ferry. Bar was quite noisy though we did find the "lounge" bar a bit quieter. Had to wait at the bar with suitcases while barmaid served customers, as there is no reception area. Was shown to room by the same person. The room was shabby, at best. The wallpaper was... More

i enjoyed a single night at the White Lion. Room was large, clean and comfortable, with large flat screen TV, free wi fi etc. Bed was fine, not the best I've ever slept in bed I slept all night and woke without aching. All with a sea view to look at if you wished. If it is hot and you... More
