The Dormy is a lovely old house near the centre of Rye with a large garden (which you can go in), and the owner is very welcoming. We had a pleasant room with a patchwork quilt and William Morris fabric covered armchair at the top of the house, with a large ensuite bathroom. The room was in a separate wing of the house with its own door, so we could go in and out as we wanted. There is a sitting room that you can use, though it is a bit waiting room like in feel. Breakfast was in a huge eighteenth century room with old furniture - a memorable experience! This is a great place to stay if you like old, interesting houses. It is slightly old-fashioned in feel (eg no TV in the room, old furniture) so may not be for you if your preference is for modern rooms with the latest fixtures and fittings. more
