Stayed at the Ship Inn 30 June for 3 nights, wonderful little holiday. Loved the quirky design of the pub, enjoyed the food and excellent breakfasts. Ideal location to explore Romney Marsh and Kent but the town of Rye is a star attraction and well worth exploring. BBC filming Mapp and Lucia so looking forward to revisiting Rye on TV... More

Nice place to stay, lovely busy bee shower gel and shampoos. Really lovely breakfast with home made muesli and granola. Comfortable bed in room 4 although the blinds were hard to close and the shower is rather dark. Great location though and Rye is a lovely place to visit

Excellent pub with superb breakfast. Evening menu a little steep in price. £5.00 for veg! Well kept rooms, all you would expect from an olde worlde pub. Staff excellent and professional. Parking the only problem.

This was a last minute booking, to this pretty, old, and historic town. Unfortunately The Ship Inn doesn't meet ones expectations. The pub/hotel has a run down appearance, whilst the staff are pleasant and helpfull, this fails to compensate for it's failings. The worst of which was the room itself, the bed was so uncomfortable, we would probably have slept... More

We thoroughly enjoyed two meals at the Ship Inn when we stayed in Rye during April this year. We'd had quite a journey from London in a rental car and had to get used to a Satnav!! This meant arriving in Rye after dark. How wonderful to enter the Ship Inn with the lively and friendly atmosphere. We had a... More

Great looking pub, nice staff, tasty food but....ridiculously/offensively small portions for the (approx £12 a plate) price. Two of our party ordered the ravioli which was served as 5 or 6 medium sized parcels - a starter portion. On complaining to the waitress a further 2 each were brought out which was a joke. We complained and to their credit... More

I stayed in this charming little hotel while visiting my cousin. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and was very good. The rooms are quirky I suppose. It is not a new building by any stretch of the imagination and there are the creaks and unevenness that comes with age. But they are... More

Themed pub had a meal didn't stay . Its a bit different bit pricy with limited choice of menu , waitress we had seemed a bit vague and unprofessional for the prices charged . Beer garden looked good but not offered the option of eating or drinking there . So for a family of 3 it was an expensive alternative... More

We stumbled accross this little gem whilst we abandoned a camping trip due to rain. I must say that the staff, price for the room and the quality of the breakfast were second to none. We really enjoyed our stay and were made to feel extremely welcome. The decor and ethos of the place is very different and works very... More
