Lovely little B&B right in the town. Was perfect for a short cosy break away. Really comfortable room, fantastic breakfast, roaring fire and the friendlyness of hospitality, what more can you ask for!!!!!!! more

We stayed in Rye last Monday and didn't fancy the hotel menu. We walked through the town and read all the menus: The Ship Inn's stood out a mile. My partner had curried carrot and parsnip soup which was divine, really spicy, followed by sole and the toffee apple sunday. I had pigeon salad followed by ham hock and chutney.... more

My wife and I spend a brilliant weekend (our wedding anniversary) in Rye staying at the Ship Inn. Having stayed in accomodation ranging from youth hostels to the Dorchester, this is with out doubt one of our favourite places. The room we had was almost shiningly clean, with the most comforable bedding and pillows I have every had. The food... more

We enjoyed a nice relaxing Friday night downstairs at the bar having amazing cocktails. I can see why The Ship was featured in The Guardian's best... more

My boyfriend and I visited the ship inn in February and enjoyed an amazing meal that we told all our friends about. This inspired my boyfriend to take me back to the ship inn for a couple of days in July. The rooms are amazing - they are decorated in a style that is different and you would not see... more

This is a lovely place to stay for those who enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere without the tweeness which can infect towns as quintessentially olde worlde as Rye. It reminded me of all the quirky, funny little French hotels that I've stayed at with it's idiosyncratic plumbing and weird wallpaper. For me a total delight. Theo and team could... more

I've stayed at The Ship twice now and been bowled over both times. As people have said, the food is ace (especially breakfast). It's cosy without being twee, and a little bit cool without being pretentious. The staff were lovely, and the whole place just made for a really relaxing weekend. Rye and Camber Sands are really special, and The... more
