There's a long way to go before this hotel reaches its true potential. The owners are friendly, the rooms are clean, if on the small side, and the bed was comfortable. It's a higgledy-piggledy place, perched on a corner of three roads just off the main street in Rye. There are three levels, all accessed by different doors, and one... more

we came for three days whith 5 children to the very cosy Old Borough! It's charming, confortable, cozy, super well located and easy for children and parents! We were so well welcome by the adorable owners and their 2 sweety twins! I could spend my life there especially with the sunny week end we had, charming town, antics, sea, cup... more

This will be our fourth visit to Old Borough Arms, a lovely friendly place to stay we feel at home every time we stay. Sarah and Ian are lovely people and treat you like they have always known you. We both know that we can go away and have a calm and enjoyable stay as we work hard and need... more

For the purpose intended, I can't really fault this place. We were just staying for the one night and the owners are lovely, incredibly friendly in fact, lovely people. The room, while being the smallest (tiny) but it was a short notice booking, was well decorated, with a very new and clean little en-suite shower room and the service was... more

We only stopped off for one night - desperately in need of a room to put our kids to bed. In the Easter holidays of course it wasn´t easy to find a place at short notice, the hotel was full up except for one fairly small double room for the four of us. Never mind, Ian the manager of the... more

Stayed there for Mr Toscano's wedding (see review below). Really nice place to stay. Although Rye is not the biggest place in the world it was still close to everything. The owners have to cute little twin girls which give it a great family feel. Good to see a place in the UK that doesn't stick by the rules... meaning... more

I stayed at The Old Borough Arms on 17 April 2009 and cannot recommend it enough. It was the night before my wedding in Rye and I booked a number of rooms for my best man and guests, some of whom had travelled from Australia. Ian and Sarah were the perfect hosts, always happy to help and their hospitality made... more

A nice B&B with ok rooms, nice hosts and a pleasant atmosphere. However, weekend totally ruined by lack of sleep as hotel is directly opposite "Baileys bar and Night Spot" and "Ship pub". Loud thumping music until early hours (way past 1pm) and then all the noise associated with large well-oiled crowd leaving - shouting, screaming, swearing etc. more

The B&B is located in easy access of Rye town centre and it's wonderful sights, restaurants and winding lanes while offering the quiet and peace we wanted on our break. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well decorated. Ian, Sarah and their twins were delightful hosts and their suggestions for places to visit were absolutely ona target. Well recommended and... more

What a delight! A few minutes walk from the train station, and walking distance to every attraction. Rooms were very clean, and the decor was charming. Traditional English Breakfast was scrumptuous! The owner, Ian, is quite a character, and knows about the history of the hotel, which was used by smugglers. I will be back! If you go, do not... more
