From the warm welcome, to the beautifully decorated rooms and the smashing breakfast, this is a home away from home in the wonderful town of Rye. Perfect location and super quiet and peaceful, this is real value for money.

We stayed here to attend the yearly scallop festival in Rye. The hotel is very querky but not suitable for either the elderly or disabled as the stairs are very steep and narrow. There is no lift but they will gladly take your cases up to your room if you would like. However - if you are able-bodied and reasonably... More

We needed a convenient stopping off point en route to our family in West Sussex. We had stayed at Jeakes House two years ago, and were delighted then, so we decided to repeat the experience. We were not disappointed. The genuine welcome from Jenny and the staff, the lovely room (Malcolm Lowry Suite) the ambience and the excellent breakfast made... More

Our second time to Jeakes House and as before it was wonderful, our room was beautifully decorated and although the shower room was small it was perfectly formed. The bed was comfortable and the little touches made the room feel special. We enjoyed the honesty bar when we returned form our evening meal and the selection of newspapers and games... More

Third time my wife and I have stayed here and each time it seems better. Fantastic house in a wonderful location full of history and charm. This is an historic building and by it's nature has narrow windy stairways, low beams in places and compact rooms which add to the attraction. Breakfast is excellent and beautifully laid out in an... Just nice all the way through. Honesty bar a nice touch. Nice room, nice staff, exactly what I expect to find in a weekend break away. Small piece of advice - also look at restaurants in the area and prebook as all the recommendations were fully booked and we ended up at Carey's fish restaurant which was dire!!!

We had an absolutely perfect Christmas in Rye. Jeakes House has a warm and friendly atmosphere and the owners and staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Rye is full of olde worlde charm and Jeakes House continues this theme. We stayed in the Radcliffe Hall room which was spacious and the four poster bed was SO comfortable! I... More

Stayed one nght recently to celebrate a birthday. It was our second visit. The Radclyffe Hall room was gorgeous and well kitted out (very small bathroom). The four poster bed was a queen size and had a very comfortable mattress (the sheets were lovely). Breakfast was a highlight, this place has a wonderful breakfast menu which puts many much larger... My husband and I have just returned from a two night Winter Break at this absolutely delightful B and B in the heart of Rye. Although we have visited Rye very many times as it is only an hours drive from our home it was the first time we had stayed there. I have always loved Mermaid Street and so... More
