We had some difficulty finding Jeakes House at first using the Sat Nav with the postcode as the target but eventually got there after driving along a number of very picturesque narrow cobbled roads (our fault, better preparation next time). Mermaid street itself is a cobbled hill and a perfect setting for Jeakes House. The road is quite narrow and... more

I have stayed at Jeake's House several times and will undoubtedly return. The location is perfect, a cobbled street close to the church, and the building is appealing, quirky and historically interesting. Bedrooms are charming and comfortable, well-chosen furnishings and bonus points for the heavy curtains. Breakfast is great, hearty and a good selection. Cat lovers will also be happy... more

This B&B is located on a cobbled hill just off the main high street in Rye. It's an easy walk to everywhere in the town centre, from pubs and restaurants to shops and historical sites. Despite all this it's quiet at night and there's no noise from traffic or passers by. If you have much luggage you can to park... more

Fantastic location on Mermaid street. Lovely old house with steep staircases and lots of character. Bedrooms decorated well, noticed not all had en-suite and our room only had a bath and toilet no shower - not really a problem as nice to relax in the bath. Would really call this a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel as did... more

A really lovely place to stay if you ever visit Rye. The rooms were really nice and the staff were so helpful when it came to your comfort and recommendations for things to do and see. The guest house has an honesty bar which we loved. It was nice to be able to relax in the bar and help yourself... more

My wife and I stayed two nights in the Conrad Aiken suite, sumptuous velvet upholstery and four poster bed. Charming uneven floors and lovely roll top bath, with plenty of hot water. Beautiful sun-drenched view from the window seat this particular weekend across the Rye rooftops to the meadows and coastline beyond. Excellent location on steep, cobbled Mermaid Street, very... more

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this return visit to Jeakes House. This time we were in the Lowry suite. Expensive, but worth it. Very comfortable. Good to have the extra space in which to relax after walking in the countryside. Roll-top bath big enough for two, shower good too. Breakfasts, excellent quality. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.... more

Went to Jeakes House in Rye for an anniversary break with my husband, it's a little more than I'd usually spend but we had a wonderful break - we stayed in the Conrad Aiken suite which is fantastic - but not sure if I'd book again as we didn't really use the extra single room attached and there is only... more

Jeakes House is a lovley B&B. The decor is very english and fresh. The service is 5 star...from the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile and felt at home. If your looking to book a special place to stay for a birthday or anniversary then i would recommed this place. Only downside was there was no... more
