we stayed with our small (very well behaved) dog in this fantastic guest house. The room was immaculate and tastefully furnished, with a very well appointed and chic en- suite shower room. Breakfast was delicious - what a delightful surprise when our dog was presented with her very own dog bowl and breakfast sausage - complete with tiny sprig of... More

10/10 to Amanda the receptionist who couldn't have been more helpful when we arrived, showing us the places to visit on a map and telling us that it was steep in places (I know I don't work out but I am not that infirm!) - she was a mine of useful info. Shown to the room (said it was a... More

We stayed for 3 nights in June, combining a family visit with a relaxing break. The place oozes charm and character and the proprietors were consummate professionals. Such a calming, relaxing atmosphere plus, of course, comfy bed, loads of hot water and excellent breakfasts. The car parking arrangements were problem-free, essential in a place like Rye. Would certainly stay again.

Absolutely loved our stay at Jeakes house, the service was wonderful (surprised by the negative review below) as we couldn't have received more help and advice before and during our stay. The house has so much character and we enjoyed the honesty bar. Breakfast was also wonderful and I would highly recommend a stay here!

Stayed here instead of at The Gallivant for a family wedding. Much better value, oodles more charm and set on a beautiful cobbled street. Very personable service, especially with us turning up fairly early to check in. Couldn't have asked for much else really. Secure enough parking for a motorbike provided around the corner and the cobbled hill makes for... More

This is the first negative review I have written, and it's for somewhere I haven't stayed at..! I rand Jeake's based on all the great Tripadvisor reviews. Here is the complete transcript of 2 phone calls I had trying to book a room: Me: Hello, do you have a room available for 2 people this evening? Receptionist: Yes we have... More

We were deeply shocked and very surprised to read your report. As a small family run business we are not in the habit of having an evening receptionist as we prefer to look after our guests personally. However, on the evening that you called we had taken a very rare night off. Please accept our most sincere apologies and be... More

We're staying here for a few days and are delighted with the quality of the place. The welcome was very warm and the service since then has been equally good. The Lowry suite is lovely, with a very comfortable bed, and all essentials for a good stay. The breakfast choice is excellent, and the recommended restaurants have so far lived... More

Have stayed at Jeakes house twice in the last 2 years. When I say twice, this was over a period of over 4month's back in 2012 and nearly 9 weeks spanning Apr/May this year. It is fair to say that I do know both Jeakes house and the proprietors Jenny and Richard quite well. Have lost count of the number... More

We stayed at Jeake’s House for two nights during our 2+ vacation of England and Wales. Perfectly situated on Mermaid Street … many tourists walking up and down the street to take pictures, and it felt great knowing we were staying right there! The staff are warm, welcoming, and informative, giving recommendations for restaurants along with a walkable town map.... More

Our first time in Rye and what a find, this wonderful place to stay in the centre of Rye, in a pretty cobbled street. The room was lovely (very comfy bed) with every facility and Amanda was most helpful and friendly with advice on where to go etc. Lovely breakfast, lots of choice well cooked and always with a genuine...
