If you are planning to visit Rye then look no further than this beautiful period B&B for atmosphere, comfort and friendliness. Centrally located and with the benefit of its own car park the owners are very welcoming and friendly, and the room we had was sumptuous. It was a shame we were only staying for one night but we'll be... More

Walking up the cobblestone street to the Jeake's house was an experience in itself. Roaming around the city (village?) was loads of fun. So many people we met in Rye have lived there theri entire lives. Talking to them all was a highlight. The hotel has so much history (and I love history!) that the town came to life before... More

I chose Jeakes House based upon the TripAdvisor reviews and it did not fail. My friend and I recently had a two night stay which was excellent from beginning to end. I made the booking by telephone which was quickly followed up by an e-mail from Jenny confirming the arrangements, along with additional and helpful advice about car parking. For... More

Stayed in the Radcliffe Suite - beautifully decorated and thoughtful touches. Great selection of teas/coffee etc. Four poster bed lovely and comfy. Richard very helpful and informative when checking in - steered us in the direction of a lovely pub with great food. Honesty bar in Jeakes House is elegantly and dramatically decorated - great selection of drinks and a... More

Lovely comfortable suite. (The Malcolm Lowry). It was beautifully decorated and had every amenity we could have asked for. The breakfasts served by Jenny and cooked by Richard were fantastic; all fresh ingredients and not too enormous which suited us. It was a lovely break for our Ruby wedding anniversary. Thanks to all at Jeake's House.

We were greeted enthusiastically by Richard Martin who explained with a simple map how to find the private car park - a must if you're travelling by car. He was also enthusiastic in greeting our dog, for whom special breakfast arrangements were made. Our bedroom, the 'Apothecary', was attractively furnished and comfortable. It was.accessed via multiple staircases as it was in... More

We were lucky to get one night in Jeakes house in Rye where we wanted to stay for ages. Its on the most beautiful cobbled Mermaid street. The fab breakfast menu alone was enough to award 5 stars, served in a galleried room. I had smoked haddock with poached egg and my partner had salmon and scrambled egg. Great little... More

We had such a warm welcome for us, and our dog Tess. Nothing was too much trouble and breakfast delicious. Even in bad weather we felt so relaxed and enjoyed every minute. We felt at home but not smothered. Highly recommended .

This was our 4th stay at Jeakes House and we have never been disappointed. It is fantastically charming and has real history behind it. We love to walk the 50 yards up the cobbled street to the ancient Mermaid Inn for a drink ( but which is 3 times the price to stay!). Even though we had one of the... More
