This is our third trip to a magical bit of England and staying at Jenny's house in Rye. You can't help but love the history of the house and its position in Rye. A great base for exploring the beautiful south coast. We have stayed in 3 separate rooms now, each with their own quirky magic. The standards and service... More

We had booked up well in advance for our brief stay in Rye. Having flown from Australia this was indeed the ideal place to bring back memories of old England. Jenny and Richard were excellent hosts but above all we could not fault anything as it was just perfect. Ambience, service , breakfast just excellent. Recommend this wonderful place to... More

We had spent the previous night at Beneden and visited Rye with no intention of staying, but we are so pleased that we did. We walked past Jeake's House and enquired if there was a room available. It was an amazing place to stay, with a convenient place to park the car. Richard and Jenny are kind, considerate hosts. Richard... More

We stayed here for a weekend break away and we could not fault anything. Richard and Jenny were the perfect hosts. The hotel was faultless, the rooms were immaculate, the honesty bar was a great touch and the location was perfect. We will definitely be coming back here and just wished we could have stayed longer.

Rye is one of the most picturesque villages in England and well worth a visit if you are travelling along the southern coast of England. As with all such places it offers a variety of hotels and guest houses, but Jeake's House gets our five star rating. If you have never been to Rye and do not have a GPS... More

Just spent two nights at Jeakes House, what a find. Richard and Jenny were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome. The rooms are extremely comfortable and quite quirky. We loved the fact that guests are treated so well, even to the point where you are invited to help yourself from... More

Simply perfect. Wanted a quiet weekend away with my partner & got exactly that. Jeake's House is a beautiful building & the service was second to none. The owners take pride in their guest house & rightly so. Will certainly return & recommend.

Yet another visit to the excellent Jeakes House. We stayed in the "attic" this time. Great room! Fantastic breakfasts as always and enjoyed a night in their (dis)honesty bar after the pubs had shut. Never go anywhere else when we go to Rye. Far superior to the nearby Mermaid.

We spent one Sunday evening in the Malcolm Lowry suite which overlooks Mermaid St. The room was very comfortable, the service attentive and the breakfast very pleasant. I would perhaps go for a room at the rear as morning deliveries etc made a sleep in beyond 700 impossible.

Real historic experience! I have already stayed in historical hotels, but more or less modern refurnishment spoilt impressions. In this case you are like a 300 hundreds years ago. The room is so nicw decorated, clean and comfortable! It was a night in the museum. I paid 80 pounds and think it's not expencive at all for such level. I... More
