Just treated ourselves to a stay at The George and from the minute you walk in the door you know you're somew special. All the staff were exceptionally well mannered and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 40 in the courtyard which was beautiful. Stunning copper bath, all the trimmings you'd expext and the comfiest... More

Just stayed at the george in rye for 2 nights, having returned many times previously. All the rooms are designed differently, but all meet the usual high standard you expect. All rooms contain lovely extras liked good quality dressing gowns, REN toiletries, bed linen etc. The turn down service at night is nice to come back to after dinner. Had... More

A mid week break at the George for my partner and I. It was a pleasant trip, but I expected more for the price we had paid. There were numerous stains on the carpet in our room, leaking taps in the sink, clogged up shower head and a broken table lamp. The staff, whilst most were friendly enough, didn't provide... More

We booked a luxury room for Sat and Sun eve and got a decent deal with a free cocktail. We were able to park outside on Saturday afternoon to check in, when we were given instructions to the car park a few moments walk away (1.50 for 24 hours, great value). We were given Room 45, very pleased as I'd... More

We stayed here on a Sunday evening and had a really good time overall. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and even mixed us cocktails for free to try out. Rye is a very attractive place and worth exploring and this hotel is the perfect place to stay with comfortable rooms and good food, and although it is not... More

A lovely traditional hotel, very comfortable, well run and appointed. I agree with other reviewers about the restaurant but am not reviewing that here. Really good breakfast and perfect scrambled eggs. Terrific offer price of £135 for dbb. Small niggles, eg our key stopped working several times, the barman has no idea about how to make a very dry martini... More

The George is stylish, warm and friendly: a lovely place to stay. Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner were all delicious, lots of comfy chairs and sofas as well as board games to while away the afternoon. We really enjoyed it. Rye is a great place for a weekend away, and I'd recommend The George.

From start to finish we had a lovely time. My husband and I stayed for a night last night with a voucher entitling us to dinner, bed and breakfast for £135 in a superior room. When we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were escorted to our room and shown where to find everything from bathrobes to refreshments.... More
