Comfortable quiet rooms at a reasonable price, good cooked breakfasts, excellent location in centre of Lewes next to Harveys quaint brewery, perfect for walking the South downs. Meals were very good, staff very friendly, and not surprisingly beer perfect.

We stayed here on a walking holiday in the south downs. The room was comfortable. The pub had character and served good meals. I have no more to say but I have to write 200 characters as a minimum to be able to submit this review.

We recently stayed overnight at The Dorset whilst enjoying a weekend in Brighton. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room was a good size and very comfortable and clean with en suite shower. We had an excellent lunch during our stay and the breakfast was also very good. Overall we thought the pub offered excellent value for money.

We recently booked two rooms to stay overnight at The Dorset with family. We have often called into the pub for a drink and bite to eat on our way to Hastings and like its friendly atmosphere and the varied menu. We were equally pleased with our accommodation - warm rooms, comfortable beds, hot showers, excellent cooked breakfast and free... More

Stayed at The Dorset overnight. Room was large and fairly clean, dust on the picture rails but bedding and towels were freshly laundered. The bathroom however was not at all nice. Lots of mouldy grouting and mould on the shower curtain, grime around the taps etc. We didn't sleep well because the room was cold during the night. These things don't... More

The accommodation seemed rather basic. On my first night, the temperature in the room was very cold indeed as the radiators were barely lukewarm. I reported this to a member of staff the following morning at breakfast and was assured the matter would be investigated. The same problem occurred on my second night; the room was so cold the following... More

Stayed here last night, Sat 21st as part of a family weekend. Booked the basic single- room 5 -see below! All reasonable but not outstanding. Thin partitions mean that noise is apparent from adjacent rooms. More alarmingly the toilet cistern in the en-suite still ran half the night!! Beware!

Visited for a meal for a large group of friends in the restaurant area.Really impressed with the service , quality of food and good selection of beers. Must admit living in Lewes I had tended to avoid visiting has I had heard food etc was overpriced. After our recent visit i will now have to pay a return visit.

A very cold day, with a splendidly warm welcome at the Dorset Arms. Our family party of four adults enjoyed an excellent lunch. Recommend the Dorset Sharing Plate for £12.50 as a starter. Olives, grilled Mediterranean vegetables, humous, peppers, various salads, pita...really good selection for four of us. Main meals all under £10, veggie or beef burgers, risotto, Fish +... More

My partner and I stayed here for a local wedding. We had been recommended by the wedding party so booked. The hotel is a pub really but a very nice one. Very oldy worldy furnished and a very warm welcome. In general the food and bar area was very nice. The rooms were lovely. The bathroom was dated and had... More
