The Dorset Inn is in a fantastic location in Lewes and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Breakfasts were very good indeed and all the staff were just lovely. The inn offers value for money. Stayed a week in June and had no big gripes at all; after all have stayed in the UKs worst hotel-also in Lewes-the White... More

Had a great stay recently. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and had everything that was needed. The cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious and staff were friendly and welcoming. Reading the comments I can see what people are saying in terms of refurbishing of rooms however the were clean and for the price very good. In short a... More

We needed a place to stay whilst visiting friends in the area and only chose The Dorset Inn because of the location but so glad I did. Previous reviews were mixed but we were pleased with everything about our stay which progressed over 2 days. The room was clean, dust free (asthmatic) and it had a homely feel about it.... More

If they say that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder', then the person who wrote the sign outside of The Dorset could well have been blind. Described as having ' Six Beautiful En-Suite Rooms, it certainly is a wild stretch of the imagination as is the four star rating it is described as having. Our room was undesirable... More

I booked this for my husband's birthday as a central place for things we were doing in Sussex. It boasts 'beautiful en suite rooms' which we feel are a little exaggerated. They were certainly comfortable and quirky (sloping floors, named after authors) but of an average standard. The cooked breakfasts were extremely good though would have preferred to be offered... Having decided to extend our stay in Lewes we found The Dorset Arms was the only option remaining. The building is conveniently situated next to a large public car park and looks fine from the outside. The bar doubles as a reception and we were greeted by a young but helpful member of the staff. Our room situated on the... More

The location of the hotel was ideal, easy access and walking distance to all amenities, castle and places of interest. Loads of parking in a pay and display car park opposite which is free after 6pm and all day Sunday Large Tesco store across roundabout. Pub was lovely and new member of staff was being trained so check in to... More

Stayed here for one night. Friendly and helpful staff, large room and an excellent breakfast. Room was clean and pleasant, bathroom was OK but dated, but overall very good value for money. And if you like real ale then you are in for a treat, the pub serving Harvey's and being next to the Harveys brewery.

Comfortable quiet rooms at a reasonable price, good cooked breakfasts, excellent location in centre of Lewes next to Harveys quaint brewery, perfect for walking the South downs. Meals were very good, staff very friendly, and not surprisingly beer perfect.
