What a pretty hotel in the centre of Lewes. Stayed in an attic room, sadly no help with the bags to the 2nd floor. Fire alarm around midnight- evacuate the building. Back to bed after the night porter located the off button. In bed and again the alarm went off- quickly muted. Lovely apology letter under the door in the... More

The town of Lewes is very nice but after initial checking in the hotel was generally disappointing for our average room rate of £190 plus parking, on their own forecourt. The room was large and spacious but quite dreary and lacking in detail. The only drawer was floor level under a very decrepit wardrobe. No others in the room at... More

I thought the key note for this hotel was dull and a bit uninspired for the money. Apart from the breakfast room which was good. When we arrived they tried to put us in a converted garage across the car park. To be fair they did move us as soon as I raised the matter. They also lost our car... More

Top notch except for the fact that they totally forgot the breakfast we ordered. We sat there for 45 minutes while they cleared up around us and it took three enquiries before we finally got what turned out to be a pitifully small plate of Bubble & Squeak. At the end of all of that I was still asked to... More

Wedding at Pelham House Hotel recently and all went very well. Staff most helpful and rooms very nice. We had one at the top at the rear with great views. Finding the room could have been a little easier with room number directions, but once found all good. Very nice breakfast, cooked for you individually so 100% fresh! Small car... More

Pelham House is a 16th century town house converted into a very classy hotel. There was a real feel of individuality in the reception areas and the nicely and individually furnished bedrooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a nice atmosphere about the place. Breakfast is cooked to order and was very nicely presented. Parking is... More

I booked Pelham House for my small wedding reception to include 3 car parking spaces. Communication immediately prior to the event (i.e. 2 weeks before) was difficult, calls were not returned. On arrival the car park was in chaos, the groom was stranded outside the hotel whilst his driver (also a wedding guest) had to look for alternative parking. The... More

Pelham house is an 18th century house with garden in the very centre of Lewes. It has been a hotel only for a few years. Despite its youth as an hotel parts of the hotel are beginning to look tired. Our room was up in a garrett. Sloping floor. Old-fashioned windows. Old fireplace - in the bathroom! The room was... More

Having stayed at Pelham House last year we were yet again pleased with this lovely hotel. In the heart of Lewes & offering lovely rooms, service & location. It also has a lovely garden. Great base when going to the Love Supreme Festival. Will definately book for next year.

My sister (who organised this trip to Glyndebourne for my special birthday) has already posted her review of this hotel and I want to support her by verifying our experience. We had a wonderful time at Glyndebourne and although the hotel did not live up to expectations of 4 star amenities, it fortunately did not spoil a fantastic surprise. The... More
