due to working in lewes I do not tend to eat out much there but my mother & grandmother wanted a day out. we parked at the bottom of the high street for three hours and decided to head to the Pelham house passing many other eating establishments. my mother was surprised to find such a beautiful building hidden in... We had what the hotel described as a Superior Double but the bed was narrow, the room small (and too hot) and the bathroom was impossibly small (it was difficult to sit on the loo without banging your nose on the bathroom door). The hotel also offers Cosy Double rooms - I cannot imagine how small they must be. We... More

We were going to the opera at Glyndebourne and stayed at Pelham House on the 21st and 22nd of June. It was recommended by a friend. The staff were delightful, the cuisine excellent, and the bed spotless. However, our 'Superior' room was located in the attic and access to it was difficult. The information folder at the bedside had a... More

On our trip we chose this hotel from reviews on Tripadvisor. On arrival we liked the style and setting of the hotel and with limited parking we had pre-booked a slot in the courtyard at £6.50. Be aware though that you can be double parked so reception will need your keys if you are on the outer row so they... More

We stayed here for our anniversary night. I really loved the stylish lobby and beautiful dining room. The view from our bedroom was amazing - right over the South Downs. The staff were really friendly. Lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Pelham house. Its a great mix of old buildings and modern comforts. Its about 10 mins from Glynbourne Opera by taxi (depending on traffic) and has a very friendly bar for a drink before turing in. Our room was in the old house and was very comfortable, Breakfast was superb with many local ingredients. Lewis... More

After searching online my wife and I decided Pelham House looked to be the best hotel in Lewes at a moderate price. The hotel looks well kept from the outside and is located in a very convenient position just off the High Street with its own private car park which was charged at £6.50 per night. The reception area is... More

We were given a night at Pelham House as a wedding gift. Finally we have got to use it and it didn't disappoint. Room was large and very comfortable, bathroom was amazing. Had a lovely dinner and some nice cocktails. Good service all round. Breakfast was nice too, full English and plenty of croissants. Found the staff were friendly and... More

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Pelham House Hotel in Lewes and all in all it was a very pleasant experience. Our room, a superior double on the first floor, was comfortable and had a splendid view over the garden to the South Downs. The restaurant was excellent with good food and good service. Two things to... More

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Pelham House in Lewes, as we had expected something much more simple. They have a good online booking service, friendly staff, beautiful room, amazing breakfast menu. We paid £69/night for a double room including breakfast. We asked for a bigger room than what we had booked and got upgraded to a suite... More
