We stayed at this hotel on Easter Sunday for one night. We used a Living Social Voucher and the location is lovely as were the views from our room which overlooked the South Downs. The restaurant however was quite another story, most of the menu contained eggs and since I am allergic, my starter consisted of bread. We had to... More

We booked in for an overnight stay as part of walking the South Downs Way. We stayed on a Sunday when the price was extremely good. We arrived early and were impressed in that the staff organised the room for us quickly. Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The hotel was beautifully done out, a lovely mix of old... More

A four day stay on business this time. This is a very comfortable hotel with top quality food in a lovely setting in central Lewes. Rooms are comfortable but quirky. A room with a Downs view is recommended Pre-book parking as it is very limited.

We have had lunch on the patio before and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I can't say the same for our visit for my birthday on the 27th March. We were shown into the bar and offered a seat, so assumed that there was waiter service for our drinks. Wrong! We were ignored and eventually had to go to the bar... More

I recently took my boyfriend to Pelham house and we both found the experience wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful and our room was amazing. The staff even made an effort to leave a happy birthday note and box of chocolates in the room. The grounds are lovely and our dinner was delicious. The breakfast was also delicious too. Staff... Many thanks for this lovely review and I hope your boyfriend had a fantastic birthday (and enjoyed his birthday chocolates) The terrace and gardens are absolutely stunning in the summer sun and perfect for a spot of alfresco dining so I do hope you will be able to come back for a return visit. We look forward to welcoming you... More

We stayed one night for dinner, bed and breakfast in an Executive Room on 8 – 9 April. The stay was a 45th Wedding Anniversary gift from our daughter and her partner. We were fortunate with the weather and visited the National Trusts 14th Century Alfriston Clergy House in the morning and Virginia Woolf’s 17th century Monks House at Rodmell... More

This really is a lovely hotel, I have family in and around Lewes so know the area well, and have now stayed twice at Pelham House and would definitely return. It's a beautiful location and a nice little hotel with friendly staff, good food and quirky rooms (which do vary in size).

We spent one night in the main building this week and were very impressed with the hotel. We were pampered with a box of handmade chocolates in our room, the curtains were closed and mints left on the bed in the evening too. Breakfast was delicious...I loved the live yogourt and local pastries as well as the cooked English. We... More

I'm very pleased your stay was so pleasurable and you plan to return. The house is very different and has its own charm, so it is great to hear that you found it so beautiful. I will make sure the breakfast team receive your comments about their breakfast service. Thank you once again. More

We had a lovely birthday trip to Pelham House. Our room was a loft room with lovely views over Lewes and The Downs. Elements of the room needed a bit of a refurb; peeling paint in the bathroom and a shower tray which filled with a puddle of water slightly spoiled the feeling of luxury. Our dinner in the restaurant... More
