If you like to escape from noisy coffee machines and screaming children but still enjoy a great coffee, the Pelham is your destination. Sitting in the autumn sunshine overlooking the view of the downs this garden is a quiet haven for a romantic rendevous or coffee with friends.

A compact hotel which is quite pretty. Had a spacious room that was clean and had good desk. Fan in room proved useful for particularly warm night. Tight parking. Nice breakfast - option to eat outside overlooking nice garden. Good small meeting facilities. Walking distance to superb Lewes rail station. No lift.

We booked for 2 nights. Room No 8 surely could not be a ' Superior Double ' as it was very cramped with no room on one side of the king sized bed, one chair,no proper shelves for clothes, no curtains, and a totally inadequate, microscopic shower room without a shelf. It must really be a single bedroom. One bedside... More

It was a pleasure to be part of a wedding party last weekend and be treated so well by the staff, Philip was the man on the bar and he looked after the group with great charm, wit and seemed unflappable , despite few staff and many guests. Lovely location and a good time was had by all. As we... More

Hi, we have just got married in August 2014 and had our reception at Pelham House. We had a fabulous day and extended stay. The preparation, organization, food and friendliness of staff, over and above what we were expecting, made our day special. In fact most of our guests were very complimentary regarding the wedding breakfast. Whilst the weather was... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here during our visit to Glyndebourne Opera House. We had previously stayed at a pub on the high street in Lewes which was not the best experience. Our stay at Pelham House was paradise in comparison! We arrived mid-afternoon and the staff were very welcoming. We had pre-booked parking (which is outlined on the website... More

This is a hotel that sees itself as premier class but little things let it down. Our room was large, comfortable and had a superb view out to the downs. A standard room presumably because of the small bathroom (shower only). Fine but a fixed shower head (so for my wife trickier to avoid her hair getting wet), no tooth... More

As many others we had booked this hotel for two nights for a Glyndebourne trip . I cannot fault the staff who were endlessly helpful when our plane was cancelled and there was all sorts of printing out of new boarding passes to be done for us which they did with great kindness. But I am afraid the hotel suffers... More

Stayed here for one night for a weekend trip to Lewes and Brighton. 1st time to Lewes and loved it! - loads of great antique and vintage shops, arty shops, cafés and restaurants. The hotel is a beautiful house right in the centre of town, staff welcoming and friendly, it could probably do with a refurb (has so much potential... More

Very clean rooms, updated bathrooms and beautiful grounds. The Ritz it ain't, but if your looking for old world British charm, this is a great spot. Strong free wifi. Nice bar inside and breakfast was excellent. I also had afternoon tea here in the rear of the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful view. I can't say enough about how... More
