Eight of us booked for a meal last Wednesday evening. The landlord Simon and his son Toby made us feel very welcome with nothing being too much trouble. Seven of us ordered the sea bass which was delicious and very well presented and the eighth enjoyed a very tender steak. Our mains were followed by an excellent cheese board and... More

Booked a table with the Anchor Inn for my birthday for myself and my partner to have a nice meal together and we turned up to be told the table we did have was no longer available so was put in the conservatory and that they had run out of most things on the menu. So we went for another... More

Visited the Anchor Inn on 9th April, and found myself in a bit of a pickle after I accidentally reversed into a ditch!! I was really embarrassed but the owner and his son Toby were extremely lovely and helpful, I really appreciated their help getting my car out of the ditch. The Anchor in is truly a gorgeous pub with... More

My husband & I had our wedding here last July & it was simply fantastic. Amazing staff & beautiful setting. Couldn't have asked for better. Thank you all at the Anchor Inn for making our day so special. We will be returning on our anniversary & hope to see all the same happy faces!

I've been here twice for a stroll along the river and a pub lunch. There's a pretty garden beside the river and you can hire a rowing boat from the pub. I've only had the roast dinners but they were huge portions and very yummy. Standard pub prices.

Had a great walk from barcombe to the anchor inn. The setting is amazing. Really disappointed that they weren't taking food orders as they had a huge back log. We ate them out of crisps and peanuts instead. Went to the rainbow inn which was really good. I would book if you are going there as those who booked were... More

Went last Sunday and thought that this food pub might be a pub that sold food. I was mistaken as apparently that had entirely run out of food. I sat outside and had a coffee and every single table was covered in dirty glasses and plates from that time in the distant past when they did have food. A really... More

This place seems to get 5 or 1 stars on other reviews. We read the reviews and hoped to get lucky - but on this occasion our toast landed jam side down... Turned up for a morning's boating, which was fine, and returned at noon and were second to order food. We sat close to the bar and waited...and waited....and... More

Had to send food back as was not even warm let alone hot! Agree with dan m... Overpriced considering it is re heated food and they couldn't even re heat it! Quite dangerous really not reheating meat until piping hot (even cold food for example, the ham looked like it had been sitting around for a while, fatty and warm)... More
