The owners could not have been more helpful. Great breakfast and really good coffee. Room is small but very clean and comfortable. Great location to central Lewes right off High St.

This is an average B&B sold at the price of a good hotel. £50-60 a night would be a reasonable charge for the cramped double rooms and unaccommodating attitude of the owner. We stayed here for one night for a friends wedding at a venue up the road. It is centrally located for Lewes town centre. The room was lovely, clean and very well equiped and the ensuite had a great shower. The hotel is extremely centrally located, but was still quiet. Although our room was small, every detail had been thought of,. The hosts looked after us very well. In this nice sunny weather, the tiny roof terrace was a real plus. We shall certainly go there again.

At Berkeley House you get it all: a warm and friendly welcome, a cosy and quiet room, a great breakfast with bacon and eggs cooked to perfection and delicious filter coffee. The Georgian charm of the House is so appealing that I wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting the Sussex Downs and I have been staying there since 1992!

This hotel is right in the centre of town and for hospitality, comfortable beds and especially breakfasts it is unbeatable for the price.
