We booked for 2 nights to include an evening at Glyndebourne. Parking is limited in this conservation area but we were well advised by Amanda, and in the event were able to park outside with a £2 ticket for each 24 hour period. The house is grade 2 listed and is in a terrace of similar properties in Albion Street,... More

The Berkeley is situated centrally in Lewes and is a good base from which to explore the town. There are a number of places of historical interest and plenty of places to relax over a coffee. We had the Green Room, which was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. There is a lovely courtyard where you can relax and enjoy a... More

Hi Alison and Gary. Thank you for your great review and for recommending us. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and, moreover, enjoyed Lewes too. It's a great town and there's plenty to explore and do, as you discovered. We're glad you liked the Green room - we're very pleased with its recent makeover, although we perhaps should... More

This was our second visit for our annual trip to Glyndebourne. This time Amanda asked if we would like her to organise our picnic - a new venture. It was all perfect - somewhere cool and unrushed to change, the delicious picnic all ready for us at a very reasonable price, a quiet bed for the night with a picture... More

Thank you Romy. It was lovely to see you both again and I'm pleased you had a lovely evening at Glyndebourne, complete with our new picnic offering. We are looking forward to an encore next year! In the meantime, take care and enjoy the rest of the summer. All the best, Amanda More

Had a really nice one-night stay at Berkeley House's Blue Room in June. Amanda was lovely, as was the room, ensuite bathroom (the shower was incredible), and breakfast. We sadly didn't have time to take advantage of the roof terrace! Will definitely be staying here again if we are in Lewes.

Thank you for your lovely comments ... and please do come again! There's lots to do in Lewes as you know and definitely some somebathing on the terrace if the weather is kind. Hope to see you soon. All the best, Amanda More

Although Glyndebourne regulars this was the first time we had stayed down. Lewes is charming and the Berkeley House made us very welcome from the moment we arrived early afternoon. Comfortable, very smart and clean. Lovely breakfast around the kitchen table with other guests and our host. We will be back!

We had a very nice stay in this nice little B&B. The owner was nice and helpful, even after it turned out there had been a slight misunderstanding with our booking. Breakfast was very good as well, especially the yogurt with fruits. Will come back any time.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I'm so pleased you had a good stay with us and that everyone was comfortable, despite the initial misunderstanding. I still can't get over your daughter's fantastic command of the English language - and as a 2yr old! What a star! All the best, Amanda and Adam More

I stayed briefly last night, before a morning engagement in Falmer. The blue room is beautifully done, small and well appointed with everything you could want (inc free wifi), including a view and fresh air. It's very quiet too being at the back of the house. And a fab bathroom - great water pressure, lights and products! Breakfast was a... More

Hi Peter. Thank you so much for your excellent review. The Blue room is one of my favourites as it has such a pretty view over the hidden back gardens of the High Street properties, particularly in the summer. Although it is on the small side, it's great for a one or two day stay for a couple, or even... More

I had decided to stay overnight as a last resort thinking I didn't want to drive back from Glyndebourne. I could - I didn't. Berkley House is elegant on the outside and homely on the inside. We were offered the last remaining possibility of sleeping two people in two beds. This was a double benefit to me because it was... More

George, thank you for your great review and, phew, I'm glad we passed your stringent cleanliness tests! Better than that, I'm very pleased you felt comfortable and welcomed. That is, after all, our aim. It was a delight to have you both to stay and we'll look forward to a return visit sometime when you can perhaps try one of... More

We stayed here 1 night as part of a visit to Glyndbourne. We arrived later than planned due to heavy traffic and were in a bit of a rush but we were well looked after, cab was ordered while we changed etc. and we were made to feel at home. Our room (Green Room) was lovely with a view to... More

From our initial email contact Berkeley House was very accommodating of our needs and that was reflected in our experience when we stayed there last week. We would happily recommend this small hotel/B&B to anyone. Comfy bed, simple, elegant decor, good shower, proper poached eggs- that's enough for us.

Thank you so much, Kit, for your glowing review. I'm very pleased you enjoyed your stay ... and that the eggs didn't let me down! I hope you have a wonderful summer in "little Manhatten". I must take an opportunity to go and visit the area again before it changes even more! All the best, Amanda and Adam More
