I was booked into this hotel because the one I normally stay in was full. I was a lone female on a work trip. I was given a room right next to the main door, which looks like a shed door. This was left open all night, until I closed it. I felt a little unsafe, not sure if it... More

A pub/inn located in rural countryside near to the sea. My husband and I stayed here one night in readiness the next morning to catch a ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe. Our arrival was delayed due to being diverted off the M40 and road works on the M25. We phoned ahead and they were very accommodating and extremely friendly. Our... More

Great B and B recommend to all people heading to or through the Lewes or Brighton area. Does what it says on the tin and more. Why the need to rewrite war and peace. Its tough out there for small business estabs.

I booked this hotel for a weekend trip to visit family. We arrived on the Saturday afternoon and were glad of the 2pm checkin time so that we could have a nap after quite an exhausting drive. I had booked by phone after reading several reviews that mentioned problems with online bookings being lost. The owner booked us in very... More

Although the Roebuck Inn is very easy to find, my stay did not get off to a great start because they weren't expecting me. I'd booked and paid via Expedia and when I showed the staff my booking confirmation they said they hadn't received an email about it, and despite their best efforts in the ensuing 15 minutes, they were... We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this Inn as we are huge fans of Old English Inns and have stayed at several. Our check in was swift, and I would go as far as to say, almost abrupt. We were directed to our room which was in a new block. You could pull your car round... More

We spent a couple of nights here, and although the pub is located on a fairly busy road, the rooms are set back behind the pub so there is no noise disturbance at all and you can park your car near the room. Once checked in, you have your own key and can come and go as you please. The... More

We stayed here in September for two evenings. The first impression was good. But on entering the Inn we were told we could not eat the following evening as a wedding was booked so would have to find somewhere else at short notice. We had not been informed due to booking on line apparently. As we had an appointment the next... More

The two points given are for the comfortable bed and the good breakfast. Small room, looked a little like a converted garage inside. Bed shorter than average, not good for tall persons. Wardrobe is less than half the recommended depth for hanging clothes in so can not be used, you either use the shower to hang them or live out... More

We stayed at the Roebuck Inn for 2 nights using 2 rooms in July whilst down from Cumbria for our daughters Graduation in Brighton. We found the rooms clean, tidy and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful from initial booking to leaving, and were very accommodating for both us, my elderly Mother and our Yorkie. We found the location ideal for... More
