Just back from a 2 night stay which turned into a 3 night stay in a double with sea view room. Cannot fault staff - all very polite and helpful. Room was spacious and bed/pillows very comfortable. Cannot comment on breakfast as we ate out. Good location as within a few minutes walk of both town centre and old town.... More

I paid £170 for 1 night for 2 rooms and no breakfast. The rooms both had excellent views of the sea. Sadly though I found things wrong with the room after the first impression of a bright airy space. The room had a fridge, hairdryer( possibly)from the 1980's) found in a draw and attached to a 'base' so it cannot be... More

I stayed in a single room with a seaview. The room it's self was VERY basic with a bathroom that was something out of the sixties. The carpet in the room was threadbare and the shower didn't work. I complained to the night 'porter who didn't speak much English and he did nothing to help. The view was good from... More

Having stayed in Hastings a lot, we decided to try the Lansdowne on the strength of their 'refurbishment' claims, and their location on the sea front close to the Old town where we normally stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly, but I was a bit put off by the weird décor and poor quality decoration in the public areas.... More

The hotel itself is very much "worse for wear" and even where refurbishment has been done it has obviously been carried out by the cheapest labour possible, Great shame because the hotel has a wonderful sea-view. Also a great shame because the staff are all very attentive, pleasant and helpful. Spend some more money on refurbs and this could be... More

I stayed overnight in July and found this a pleasant place to stay. I booked a single room and was given a room with a double bed which was a bonus, the bed was comfortable. The wi-fi was very easy to access and reception was very good. Breakfast was excellent with help yourself tea, coffee and cereal and a cooked... More

Booked through Hotels.com. A lovely stay, room very clean and comfortable. The sea view was great and the room bright with plenty of space and a lovely shower. Only a short walk to the Old town with lovely pubs and restaurants and all the other amenities. Have stayed there before and would do so again.

Booked through a late booking website I paid very little. The view was worth that alone. Bed was spotless as was the shower. Parking is free overnight but you would need a mortgage for day time. Strange experience but a great business stopover..... would not choose it for much longer. See all the other comments about MDF and The Shining.

We spent a lovely weekend in the Lansdowne for the Beer & Music Festival. Our room was ready on arrival and what a lovely room. We had a seaview balcony room which was very clean and bright. The bathroom was great with a walk in shower. The breakfast was delicious. All in all a great weekend!

We stayed over the weekend. We had a double room with a see view which was very picturesque, we were very lucky with the weather with non stop sunshine, the room was comfortable, a good size with all the essentials and a spacious bathroom with shower. The service was very good, the breakfasts was very nice, buffet style plus a... More
