Had a lovely nights stay here in this lovingly restored house. As soon as you step inside it is like being transported back in time. Very warm welcome and lovely tea and home-made cake on arrival.Perfect quiet room. The decoration and attention to detail has to be seen to be believed. Delicious breakfast, all fresh and home-cooked. A perfect escape from... More

We booked a table at St Clements, and they recommended St Benedict's, and I'm glad they did. We were greeted by the housekeeper on arrival, and offered tea and cake. A lovely touch. The house is beautifully kept, the decor may not be to all tastes but for me it was perfect. The room was comfortable and the bed! Such... More

The owners were away but we had a warm welcome from the housekeeper and started with tea and cake. It is a fascinating property which the owners have spent a lot of time and money bringing this place back to its original features. We were put in the colonel's room which they kept to theme as were the other rooms.... More

My wife and I both enjoyed our visit here, after a shaky start - but all's well that ends well! Paul and Stephen are very nice people, and do try to make one feel comfortable. The rear garden is well worth a stroll around, and the gorgeous little chapel is wonderful just to be in and feel the peace! Catherine,... More

Excellent is not good enough to rate this B&B! My family and I had a wonderful night here. I wish I could stay for few more nights. As other reviewers mentioned, it like living in a museum and/or travel in time. Imagine visiting those National Trust mansion, but this time I could actually touch every thing, stayed a night, sitting... More

Charming hosts who are passionate collectors and invite guests to experience the atmosphere they have created. The garden where we had tea is as lovely as the house. Quiet neighborhood on the hill with a pleasant walk down to the seaside.

Like sleeping in a museum, comfortable, beautiful with great attention to the detail, both in service and interiors. Wonderful gardens, and delicous breakfast eggs straight form St Benedict's chicken coop.

I was travelling down to St Leonard's on Sea for a housewarming party of a very good friend. It had not been the best day for me, that's for sure. I arrived at the St Benedict feeling particularly upset. I knocked on the door and received a very warm welcome .... I felt like I had been wrapped in an... More

What a great place. Incredible decor and gardens, beautiful rooms to relax in and the kind of breakfast you cook at home. Paul was a wonderful host. I'd love to return. I can't think I've ever been to a better B&B.

We do travel quiet a lot and wish to find more of these hidden authentic gems. Its a marvelous old victorian B&B restored with a lot of care and attention to detail with a discreet & personal service. Location to discover the very nice area is fantastic and shows the old charm it has if more was restored with the... More
