Despite the windy and rainy weather, me and my friend enjoyed our trip to Hastings thanks to Alexander's Hospitality. On arrival our room was a free upgrade to a front sea view as per request. Also extra towels and helping with luggages were provided very kindly. We'll come back in the summer season!

Alexanders was a nice B&B. The rooms are clean but, like a lot of B&B's, very small. The building is clean and retains all the old features. Personnel is nice. Just one thing though, the radiator was against the bed's head rest making it way too hot in the morning...

The people were wonderful, the accomadations were really nice. Never stayed at anything like this before where it was like a home instead of a hotel. A nice change. Everything was comfortable plus we had a wonderful view of the ocean.

Booked in for one night in a single room which reminded me of a cell - dark, dingy and didn't come close to comfortable. The whole place looked a little seedy and was clearly being run on a budget which is surprising given how expensive it is to stay here. The mattress in my room was so old and/or cheap... More

Another negative review posted by a family member of reviewer JaneDbond - heading (First and very last visit). Apparently Trip Advisor thinks its acceptable for family members to post numerous reviews regarding a stay!!! I have my business to run and don't have time to reply to numerous negative reviews posted by the same family that have an issue with... More

Stayed at Alexander's for the bonfire parade. Jenny is a great host, and is always there with a smile and willingness to help. Room was clean and bright, everything you needed was there. Tea / Coffee making facilities (much needed first thing) small fridge in room (bonus) shampoos and shower gel in bathroom as well as nice white fluffy towels.... More

The place is perfect. only 5 minutes walk from the station, right on the waterfront with an amazing view from the balcony. The room was cozy but you don't go to the seaside to stay in the hotel room. The staff were incredibly friendly, with special mention having to go to Jenny who was so very helpful both in the... More

A charming old building with loads of charater.Had a room overlooking the waterfront with lovely views, with my own bathroom. The breakfast was great. And service was excellence. Easy walking distance to all the attractions or restaurants.

We arrive Saturday evening after enjoying the Hastings Seafood & Wine Festival, and were greeted by a smiling and friendly young man who quickly sorted the keys for our 2 rooms - we booked 2 family rooms and we travelled with our 2 teenagers. The rooms were well appointed and we have lovely sea views to wake up to on... More

I simply cannot believe the positive reviews I've read about this establishment can relate to the same place we ended up in. Alexander's is described on its own website as a "hotel". This is completely wrong. it is an old fashioned boarding house, but it's prices certainly do not reflect an old fashioned boarding, more a comfortable three star hotel... More

Is the review you have posted JaneDBond due to the fact that you telephoned us on the day of arrival to cancel your booking, however when you were told that unfortunately you were in the cancellation period and no refund would be issued that you decided you would be able to make your trip after all. You then arrived check... More

Our final night on the South coast for my daughter's graduation was spent in this charming old house facing the sea on Hastings front. It's quite easy to get to and has some parking spaces outside. We were greeted by one of the owners, who sorted me out with a car park pass (a parking voucher for the nearby underground... More
