I stayed here with my partner and two children in October 2012 and found it very pleasant. Nice welcome, comfortable room, lovely breakfast and fairly good location - bit of a walk to town centre but I knew that as have visited Hastings many times. I recommended The Sherwood to my parents who are looking for somewhere to stay so... More

We do not like having to decline a potential reservation (very rare). The gentleman we spoke to was quite understandably angry. We sometimes have guests who will not stay with us if we have animals, due to allergies or fear. We also do not have the facilities for animals. Sadly we had to relocate our own pets 6 years ago.... This was the 2nd leg of our trip to Harwich for our Baltic Cruise. The only complaint is there is no off street parking. There is a parking lot between the park across the street and the beach- would move the car close to the house when a spot would open up on the street. When making reservations for 2... More

Stayed one night in room 16. Lovely room with fire exit. Bed was better than home. Owners where lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and all home made. Would certainly recommend The Sherwood to family and friends and will definitely be returning next year for a longer stay.

We stayed at the Sherwood for one night over Hastings weekend. From the first phone call until the moment we left, the incredible welcome and friendly approach was refreshing. When we arrived we were delighted with our spacious room and sea view and had opted for a shared bathroom and pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of it(spotless). Breakfast... More

Stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting family, it's a lovely place situated right on the sea front, I had a single room and when I open my curtains, I can see the sea straight ahead, perfect! Beds are comfy and Jeanette that runs the place is fab, nothing is too much bother. It's a comfortable, homely place and... More

We stayed here for one night in the summer we were attending a local party so needed somewhere to change and sleep for the night. As we were only going to use the room for the above I booked a standard twin with a shared bathroom, yes it was the cheapest, ( I think it was about £70 for B&B... More

Stayed for one night whilst attending a local party. Was surprised by pleasant location, practically on the seafront. Free parking on the road outside. Small room, but clean and comfortable. Shower and toilets rooms on corridor were clean. Soap available as well as coffee/tea/biscuits in room. Friendly host. Breakfast nothing special. Good value!
