The hotel is in a good location and the room was small, clean and well kept. Wifi was a bit of a struggle up on the 2nd floor where the connection kept dropping out. Mattress also seemed very old, bowed in the middle (room 8) and wasnt that comfortable. Breakfast also wasn't anything to write home about. An over cooked... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review; while I'm sorry that everything wasn't up to scratch for you I'm a bit puzzled about some of the remarks you make. Other guests who have slept in room 8 have commented favourably on the comfortable bed, which was new to the room about two years ago, and we have had... More

Stayed for one night - New Year's Eve - with my teenage daughter as we had a party to go to and I'm too old to sleep on floors these day! Lovely warm welcome with a cuppa! Lovely decor, spotlessly clean, central but not noisy. Would highly recommend.

From the warm welcome, to the comfy bed, sumptuous breakfast and cheery farewell, the Alvia is a treat to stay at. Mark and Pierre are charming hosts and the location is excellent being close to the attractions without being on top of them and close to the sea for a bracing walk in the morning after your cooked breakfast.

Stayed last weekend with my girlfriend, booked on the strength of TA reviews and the location (and that they had a dog, mad I know!!). Nice warm room, clean bed, tasty breakfast and a parking space right outside the front window (more luck than anything). The bath towels were nice and big and the shower in room 4 was brilliant.... We stayed in room 10 in the middle of November. The view was great from the window. The sea and the Eye were visible. It's a short walk to the sea front where you will find the pier and Sea Life Centre and just a few more minutes to the Lanes. The hotel itself was lovely. The breakfast was more than adequate and the little... Hello there Thanks for the positive feedback, it's good to know that you were happy with your stay. I'm sorry that there was a problem with the radiator in the room, which we have now rectified. Thanks again, and I hope we see you back here before too long. Best wishes Mark & Pierre More

We were in Brighton for a Simply Red concert and stayed at the Alvia Hotel for two nights. Whilst our room was quite small, we enjoyed having an en suite shower room. Mark, Pierre and special Freddie were very welcoming and helpful. We booked the car parking and glad we did. We parked up and didn't use it all weekend... More

Showed up in the pouring rain with no booking, bumped into the manager as he was coming out. He kindly showed us two rooms and charged a reasonable rate. He gave us a map and showed us everywhere we may be interested in visiting while in town. He was super friendly. The accommodation is easily in walking distance of all... More
