A late booking by phone for a long weekend was handled rapidly, clearly and very kindly with confirmation being sent, as promised, within half an hour. We also arrived late but were warmly received by Mark. The lovely Alviar is as you see it on the web site: the rooms are tastefully decorated and beautifully clean. What you don't see... More

A welcoming, comfortable and convenient hotel, successfully combining intimate and informality while also being very close to the amenities and attractions. The personal service was particularly good without going over the top. I will definitely recommend you to others for a short break by the sea.

What a fantastic hotel, so glad we stayed here and will most definitely stop here when returning to Brighton again hopefully in the near future. It's in a great location and you literally walk straight down the street to brighton pier and the beach. Really great value for money and friendly service. I also loved the breakfast which was the... Excellent weekend stay, breakfast fresh and good quality, we were able to park a the rear for a nominal fee. Mark welcomed us from the moment we arrived and was helpful and professional. The room, a little squeeze, served us well for both nights, and the dog was made very welcome too. Thanks guys, we will be back at some... More

The Alvia hit all the right spots in abundance. Great location, dog friendly, parking, charming and helpful hosts, great breakfast, wifi, clean and bright room. We couldn't have asked for better. Many thanks

We stayed at the Alvia for three nights and had a brilliant time. It was one of the best hotels we have stayed at in England within that price range. It is near to all the facilities you could want, as short distance from some lovely restaurants and bars. Mark was very informative and had excellent knowledge of where things... More

A comfy hotel with a b&b feel! This hotel is clean, modern and fantastic value for money taking it's location into account - only 5 minutes into the middle of two and 2 minutes to the sea front. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The only suggestion I would have is for drawer space in the room -... More

Mark provided a fantastic service and was friendly and helpful before I'd even checked in. Parking was organised for my trip down and whilst I couldn't check in when I arrived (at 9am, I had driven down to attend a conference) I was told which room would be mine and my bags were ready waiting for me in my room... Thanks for your kind remarks and I'm pleased your stay here was enjoyable. We normally describe the room you had as 'compact' - perhaps 'bijoux' is a better description! You're right about breakfast - we believe that quality is better than quantity and use only local ingredients. If anyone asks for extras, however, we are happy to provide them. I... More

Had a wonderful break in Brighton with my missus so she could relive her university days. The hotel was in an excellent location just a short walk for everything. The manager was friendly and efficient. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was actually more comfortable than the one we have at home! The breakfast was delicious and the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here on July 12th for 1 night. Great location, very clean and comfortable, breakfast was lovely and David was a fantastic host. Lots to do in Brighton and an ideal escape from work and children! Will definitely book again :)
