This is a cute little guest house - very conveniently placed for the attractions of Brighton though just enough outside the centre to be quiet. It's a stone's throw from the promenade and on bus routes. My room was a dinky little double, spotlessly clean. You will be assured of a warm welcome and advice on anything you might need... More

I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough.Impeccably clean, friendly without being obtrusive. It is beautifully decorated, close to the sea front and the cutest little dog I have ever met in my life.

A great value hotel in a great location; it's just a short walk to the seafront and shops, and despite the popular area there was no trouble with noise at night. We had a warm welcome from staff, who were very accommodating when we ran a few hours late, and we were really pleased with the room. It was spotless... More

A friendly welcome from one of the owners, help with carrying bags and tea/coffee offered on arrival which was lovely after a long journey. The room was well furnished, lovely bed linen and towels. En suite was compact but really powerful shower and smartly tiled. The dining room was lovely, beautifully presented with linen cloths and modern white china. Selection... More

We stayed at the Alvia for three nights in February. Due to the horrendous weather conditions we were quite delayed, but thankfully Mark stayed up for us and gave us a warm welcome. He explained points of interest and asked what food we liked so he could point us in the direction of nice places to eat. The breakfast was... More

Nice hotel but difficult to park at evenings if full up. Nice cooked breakfast and nice rooms very clean and friendly owners. Comfortable room in front of hotel first floor. Not far from beach and Queens Park and marina.

My partner and I stayed at the Alvia in June 2013 on a KGB deal so should have written this review ages ago. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We were given a map and tips on places to eat. The breakfast was well cooked and nicely presented and our room was spotless. Pity it was so small though.... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and my apologies for the delay in replying. I'm sorry that you felt the room was too small - this is one of the standard rooms which we offered as part of the deal you took up. Since your stay we have taken out some of the furniture in the room... More

My partner and I recently stayed at the Alvia and we are glad we did. From arrival to departure we were impressed with, not only the room and dining area, but the friendly owners attention to detail. The breakfast was well cooked and to order, with a pleasant window table. The location was just a short stroll along the seafront... More

We have just returned from two days staying at the Alvia Hotel and what a pleasant place it was. The hotel was spotless, clean and welcoming from the first glance at the entrance, through to the very warm welcome we received and then on to our room. The room was tastefully decorated....I loved the Art Nouveau pattern on the curtains... More
