Reviewed this hotel 2 years ago after staying a week for a conference. Stayed here again for the same reason and delighted to find its standards hsd not dropped. The only changes are that there is now a £6 for a cooked breakfast and you can't have breakfast in your room. The quality of the breakfast means it is well... more

On our arrival the staff were extremely friendly and helped explain arrangements. We parked our car at the Marina (which is free) - they are regular buses from here or it is a 25 min walk from here otherwise you have to pay £10-18 a night parking somewhere closer. We stayed in a junior suite which was roomy, tastefully decorated,... more

My husband and I have stayed at the Amherst 4 times, we honestly can't fault anything. Karolina is fabulous! From a great check in to departing, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are immaculate and spacious. Although a B&B, I don't agree with the last post that the place is expensive, we find it very good value for money,... more

The Luxury Junior Suite gave us plenty of space to be "at home" as well as a comfy bed. The decor of the the suite and the rest of the place we saw was carefully put together in a contemporary style, well maintained and clean. The location is close to the centre of town and the sea without being noisy.... more

We stayed for 2 nights in Jan. We had room 7, a junior suite, and it was simply a large bedroom with a sofa, coffee table and small two seater dining table. The room was warm, comfortable and clean. The large bed was furnished with a very thick duvet and since it was a cold, bleak weekend, that was very... more

We stayed in the Amherst after reading the reviews and seemed to be the only plcae in Brighton that got good reviews. I have to say that it is a really nice B&B and would stay there again. We were in room 7 which is on the 3rd floor, there isn't a lift and the stairs are narrow so can... more

Stayed at this B&B following the rave reviews on trip advisor. We had a great time though there are signs of quality slipping. Overall rating is because of the friendly and efficient service, that everything was clean and well presented and the little extras such as free water in the mini-bar, packets of nibbles in the room and a book... more

Stayed for 3 nights midweek and found the hotel staff to be very polite and helpful. The room was a good size and comfortable, like a home away from home. Good minibar and toiletries. Very comfortable bed. Great breakfast and well worth paying the extra 6 for the cooked brekkie! Would recommend it, good value. Location also great, a stones... more

My feelings for this place are mixed, on the one hand you have one of the friendliest host/managers i have ever come across to meet and greet you and look after you during your stay but on the otherhand i can't help but feel that this is just a glorified B&B at quite a high rate. I read one of... more

The Amherst is a gorgeous little guest house, and as soon as we arrived we knew we had chosen the right place. The reception room was immaculate, as was our bedroom. The rooms are fairly small, but cosy. The bathroom was full of delicious molton brown products which I took advantage of! We chose to have our breakfast delivered to... more
