Stayed here for a hen weekend, our room was on the 3rd floor, very narrow steep staircase to get there, room was on a slope so nothing would stay on any bed side tables. Ensuite was basically a walk in wardrobe turned into a bathroom. There was hair in the shower and no water pressure in the shower at all,... More

The Ambassador's location is prime but the accommodation is not. The carpet needs replacement, the rooms are poorly serviced in the morning and the breakfast is sad despite the monumental efforts of the staff. But I would stay here again if all other hotels are booked. More

Such a great little find! My husband and I typically go to Brighton 3-4 times per year for a long weekend and have stayed in all sorts of hotels and B&B's ranging from frighteningly bad to uber chic. We happened across the Ambassador when looking for a dog friendly B&B a year or so ago, and now we only ever... More

Tatty, old and very poor food and it cost £88 on a Sunday night. Don't get how this is a hotel - it's a tawdry old guesthouse. Service very average, friendly but didn't seem to be that bothered, and it seems that they have a good location so maybe that's why they don't make the effort. Tiny room, frayed carpets,... More

We are sorry to read your comments. The Ambassador is a four-star Bed and Breakfast, not really a hotel. Still, we take seriously your comments; if we can help further, please just drop us an email or give us a call. More

I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel and from reading the other comments realise I got a very good rate. Had I paid more I would be critical. On the possitive side the bed linen was fresh and the towels clean. However the general cleanliness of the room was not good, I had to pull a mass of hair from the... More

This is a surprise after the reviews I read! In a fantastic location - right in Kemp Town - great restaurants at the end of the road - seafront at the other end! Rooms are simple - bedding was very clean - water pressure good in shower - nice towels - cant really fault it as somewhere to just lay... More

We found the vegan & vegetarian breakfasts nice and most of the staff were friendly, but these are the only positive things I can say. It is so over-priced it's offensive. How it warrants four stars I do not know. Please, look to stay elsewhere. There's a lot of choice in Brighton in the same price range, I've stayed in... More

We debated whether the place was 'going up' or 'coming down' and couldn't decide. Very tatty, 1950s seaside landlady feel about it - threadbare, institutional carpet and very tired decor. But the room was fine if small, the bed comfortable, the TV worked and the towels were luxurious. Excellent breakfast too - mostly local produce - with good coffee, and... More

Possibly the worst hotel/B&B your ever likely to come across. Basil Fawlty open this hotel and its not changed. Over priced, not maintained, very poor quality, decorated when built – but not since. Would you pay 125 for a Sunday Night? I booked via the web – so was stuck in that hole for 5 days! A short walk along... More
