£147.00 for a family room which was a double room with double, sinfle and camp bed squashed in. 'antique' television on bracket precarious over camp bed so my child didnt feel safe to sleep there. carpets filthy and sticky, bed linen marked. furniture broken. bathroom mouldy and grubby, couldnt use it! the whole place stunk of stale cigarette smoke, old... Arrived last weekend and was very pleased from the outside, the b and b was nice and well presented, when I got inside however, the place is dark and dingy and in desperate need of redecoration. I was overall, pleased with the breakfast, service was slow, but it was very busy and there were only 2 staff serving, when breakfast... More

I don't like to write reviews normally but this hotel is beyond awful. It advertised itself as 4 AA-star but it feels like a no star. first of all, the hotel itself is outdated in terms of decor. For the amount they charge us, we could stay at a nearby Hilton or The Grand Hotel for the same price! We... More

I have never written an review as angry and fustrated as this. We arrived at the B/B and was welcomed and told the room was on the second floor. As we entered the hallways were dusty and carpet so outdated. We arrived at the room and the carpet and decor was in such a terriable state. The carpet was frayed... More

Arrived no key, trudged up 3 floors to find room with stained carpets and bathroom smelling of poo! Advetises a bar, no draught beer very limited range, bar area tatty. Staff all Polish, no offence, polite but obviously not interested. Breakfast poor, runny eggs served by a man in dirty jeans and tee shirt. Parking will cost £7.50 a day... More

We stayed at the Ambassador for two nights prior to the Brighton Marathon and were delighted with the experience. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to be helpful to the many runners who were staying there, even to the extent of laying on a special early breakfast. They even allowed us to... More

Stayed here for 4 nights over Easter weekend. From the moment we arrived until we left, we did not receive even a basic welcome or courtesy from any member of staff. At the prices they charge, the rooms were very small. We heard every noise of people chatting outside on the landings, as well as, the noise of peoples heavy... More

Stayed here recently for two nights on a hen weekend, the "hotel" is grotty and is in need of a major facelift throughout, falling wallpaper, dirtry carpets, loose bannisters. The best thing about the whole place was the duvet. The breakfast was an absolute shambles, the coffee was awful and i waited a good 45 mins for my breakfast which... More

I have left the ambassador this morning and my main reason for leaving a day early, was how filthy and not looked after the place is. We needn't have bothered getting no smoking rooms as the entire place smelt of smoke from the minute you walked in. The 'bar area' had a centre piece of seating that was so filthy... More

Last year we stayed in the large room which has a walled garden, so we knew what the place was like. This time we went for a standard room which was clean, comfortable and had a view of the sea. The Ambassador Hotel was one of the few we cold find that was dog friendly AND allowed us to stay... More
