The moreland hotel is a lovely place to stay, myself and my wife stayed there for 3 nights and if we were to visit brighton again then we would stay at the moreland again for sure. The proprietor called Darren is a very nice man who made our stay at his establishment very welcoming and enjoyable. Thank you so much... More

Most British bed and breakfasts annoy the hell out of me. I will never forget the question 'egg or bacon' asked by the owner of one years ago. I dislike the greasy fry ups, the cramped rooms, the feel of the 1950s, the pretend friendliness that you find as a rule in most of their ilk. The Moreland is the... More

I don't really know where to begin with a review of The Moreland as absolutely everything, from the minute we arrived, was welcoming and impeccable. We stayed in a room at the front of the house that had a freestanding roll-top bath, a kingsize bed, an abundance of storage and, much to my husband's delight, a free supply of wagon... More

Hospitality in The Moreland is what hospitality literally means. Darren is very kind and helpful, very welcoming host. It’s hard to believe how comfortable and high quality could be a room and bathroom (and the dining room as well) in such a small building. The room with en-suite is perfect: we stayed in room 8 on the top floor with... More

We stayed at The Moreland last weekend, as ex Brightonians who know the city well, the location could not be faulted. Right on the central point of bus routes for anywhere you want to go - don't forget Brighton is a 'green' city so leave the car at home and get the No. 6 from the station which pretty much... More

Even including a mildly squeaky bed, this is the best b&b I've stayed in. Everything mentioned by previous reviewers is right.....the hospitality tray, breakfast and the rooms are fab but what really makes the stay is Darren; a truly excellent host. Thanks for everything!

From the outside it is a normal house, but inside you will find neat details and a very clean and good maintained hotel, run by a special person. You will feel almost like home (as if you had a butler). And if you ever wonder, how you could make a wonderful continental braekfast in just a few squaremeters without feeling... More

Booked at The Moreland for a one night stay. Darren was a warm and welcoming host and showed us to our very nice room - very good quality bedroom/en-suite at the rear of the property. Excellent facilities, including a fridge and generous amount of tea/coffee, complimentary snacks, water and toiletries, free wifi etc. Great nights sleep - very quiet, despite... More

We stayed for a long weekend during the marathon weekend. The hotel was spotless, and the room well dressed and smart. Good taste Darren. Breakfast was excellent and he even made porridge for the runners, how thoughtful is that? Location is excellent with a short walk to shops and beach. Darren sorted out car parking, and he was very knowledgeable... More
