I stayed in this hotel with my husband in May 2015 for 3 nights (Friday to Sunday) during the Brighton Festival. I agree with all the positive comments that other guests have already made. The owner is very friendly and helpful, for example he gave us excellent recommendations for good places where to eat. The breakfast is really good and... More

We read all the positive Reviews and looked the Pictures of the rooms - and what shall I say? Everything is true! The rooms are tasteful, Darren, the host, is wonderful. As often as we will come to Brighton in future, we will never stay anywhere else.

Don't have a great deal to add, but just confirm everybody else's comments. Darren is a star and the attention to detail and care taken over everything is excellent. Ok, there's no typical fry up in the morning, but the range and quality of the cereals, breads, cheeses, meats, fresh fruits is actually a lot better in many respects. The... More

Just returned from a weekend staying at The Moreland - perfectly fabulous Darren is a wonderful host and his attention to detail is in abundance here. Easy to say but the small touches really do make a huge difference, Breakfast selection was just amazing and such a refreshing change from the norm.I can add no more for fear of running... More

Just had a very enjoyable 2 night weekend stay at The Moreland boutique hotel. Location: Very handy; 15 minutes walk to the Lanes, 20 minutes to Brighton Station, walking distance to any of the attractions in central Brighton. Room: We chose room 6 at the rear of the hotel. Very clean, quiet, plenty of light, excellent sound proofing between rooms.... More

The moreland hotel is a lovely place to stay, myself and my wife stayed there for 3 nights and if we were to visit brighton again then we would stay at the moreland again for sure. The proprietor called Darren is a very nice man who made our stay at his establishment very welcoming and enjoyable. Thank you so much... More

Most British bed and breakfasts annoy the hell out of me. I will never forget the question 'egg or bacon' asked by the owner of one years ago. I dislike the greasy fry ups, the cramped rooms, the feel of the 1950s, the pretend friendliness that you find as a rule in most of their ilk. The Moreland is the... More

I don't really know where to begin with a review of The Moreland as absolutely everything, from the minute we arrived, was welcoming and impeccable. We stayed in a room at the front of the house that had a freestanding roll-top bath, a kingsize bed, an abundance of storage and, much to my husband's delight, a free supply of wagon... More

Hospitality in The Moreland is what hospitality literally means. Darren is very kind and helpful, very welcoming host. It’s hard to believe how comfortable and high quality could be a room and bathroom (and the dining room as well) in such a small building. The room with en-suite is perfect: we stayed in room 8 on the top floor with... More
