We found this Guest House on a late booking website it was offering a good deal but we actually booked by telephone as time was tight. The Hudson Guest House is small and quirky but we slept well in the ground floor room. Things did get a bit noisy first thing with guests coming and going but breakfast was excellent... more

A great, cosy B&B. Rooms are decorated to a high standard, the hotel location is perfect (close to seafront, and only a 5 min walk to all the shops/nightlife) My only negative comment would be that the walls are very thin, you can here people talking in the next room. more

Great hotel in a central location for great restuarants and the sights, including the promenade and night life area. Main shooping centre and the "Lanes" a 5-10min walk away. Royal Pavillion 5 mins. Bus stop with buses to the station and central shooping areas more or less outside in Edward Street. more

Overall, this guesthouse was disappointing. Maybe it was because we had paid the extra bit for Suite 2 which was in the basement and felt we hadn't got our money's worth at all. Although the room and decor was lovely with a patio garden outside our door, we would have to fault it on a couple of things. The mattress... more

We were charmed by the pictures on the web site, but they are misleading. The B&B is very small, and the stairs are narrow. We stayed one night in the Hudson Suite - expecting it to be their best room, but hope it isn't. The "suite" is a large, dark room in the basement with peculiar decorating and an unhealthy... more

We really liked this guest house and the owners did all they could to ensure we had all we needed. Room 7 is the one to have and it was one of the nicest rooms we have had in Brighton. Ensuite is really a cupboard with a shower and a loo squeezed in, but that was okay for us. Great... more

I stayed at Hudsons on my own after a night out in Brighton and was made to feel most welcome on my arrival. I stayed in the 4-poster room 5, which was elegantly furnished and finished with little extra touches like a minibar and toiletries. Full English breakfast was well cooked and included in the rate and the owners will... more

I temporarily worked in Brighton for 3 months from September to December and chose the hotel mainly for its location and price. I was pleased with the choice on both accounts. It is ideally situated for all of Brighton's many amenities and good value for money. Both Steve and Alex are friendly owners with a very welcoming manner. Although the... more

Incredible. Having travelled around this fabulous planet for many years I thought I seen it all and met them all, until I dared to spend a weekend away on my doorstep in Brighton. The chap was so rude that I couldn't quite get my breath, ticking me off for being 12 minutes late for my 5pm check in time but... more

We spent three nights at Hudsons in October. The position is good, very handy for the sea, walking distance to the main sights, the Lanes etc. A lack of attention to detail lets the hotel down though. The back door on the 'sun room', an extension to the breakfast room, doesn't shut properly making dining in there a distinctly chilly... more
