We stayed at the HDV Brighton last weekend and from start to finish it was a great experience! we had the Cristal loft suite on the Saturday night, this room is amazing and is bigger than most 1 bedroom flats, has a large corner sofa and pinball machine, 2 roll top baths and a shower as big as a bedroom... This is not the best romantic stay hotel I have ever stayed at. But it came a close second. Brighton is never less than interesting, even when the wind whips off the sea on a dark winters night and all you want to do is relax in the bar of this welcoming place and listen to the chatter of the... Just returned from HDV Brighton after a short stay & a family meal. Service was excellent - from booking, updates on roadworks outside hotel, a room that had easy access (important as I've mobility issues), comfy bed, big bath, nespresso in room, informative bar staff, usual high standard of bistro fare & the most welcoming, helpful ladies on reception that one... Stayed here for 2 nights just after New Year to celebrate my birthday on a dinner, bed & breakfast deal. Room was very nice although the upstairs shower/bath took a bit of getting used (I'm 6'7" and the stairs are a tad low). The staff were very friendly, food was great (as always), as were the cocktails. The hotel is... More

Second year running for spending New Year's Eve at the HDV and this year, with friends joining us, was even better. There were canapes and champagne in the bar beforehand. The lovely waiting staff just kept on coming round with tasty morsels and topping us up until time to go in to dinner. Then a three course meal with sorbet... More

We wanted to commend Jay from the hotel on how he dealt with a problem we had at the hotel in connection with the menus A la Carte/included with room menu, We have had our eye on this boutique hotel for a while and were unfortunately disappointed with it. The room was situated outside in the Court Yard and rather... More

I was treated to a overnight stay here in December. We dined in the restaurant which i have reviewed separately. The corridors are lined with former reviews and advertisements from publications praising the hotel when it first opened. It is really living on past glories. Our room was well proportioned with a small balcony which might be nice in the... More

Really ordinary afternoon tea, over the Christmas period. Cheese & pickle sandwiches were not what I had expected of such good hotel!! Really felt like the kitchen staff didn't want to do it & they wouldn't even make an extra round of sandwiches for a latecomer. Not worth the cash.

Stopped here for a glass of wine while visiting Brighton the week before Christmas. Bar had a lovely atmosphere & while there visited loos. When I got home that evening realised I'd left my ring behind. Rang the hotel on Monday on the off chance it had been handed in & was told by the very friendly lady on reception... More
