We stayed at the Hotel Du Vin Brighton during a very hot weekend in late May – we managed to get a really good deal on a Sunday night, which we were delighted with. The hotel is in a super location, in trendy Ship Street, tucked in the Lanes, just off the Sea front. Having done plenty of research and... more

Like the other hotels in the HdV chain, the establishment in Brighton is an old building that has been stylishly transformed into a very chic-looking hotel. It effortlessly combines the best of traditional and modern features to promise a most comfortable and enjoyable stay. This impression is encouraged by the welcome at reception, which is polite and efficient. After I... more

We were made very welcome by all the hotel staff during our recent two night stay at the Hotel Du Vin in Ship Street, Brighton. The hotel is very conveniently located for just about everything in Brighton and whilst the room rates are slightly overpriced in my opinion the experience was well worth it. We did eat dinner in the... more

We booked on their own website the day before we travelled and got a large superior room for £99 a night room only- much less than the normal advertised price. - Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. - Location, well you couldn't ask for better. Adjacent to the sea and yards away... more

We were really disappointed with the room. £240, and it wasn't as nice as a standard marriott we'd stayed at recently for £100 a night. We were 3 couples on a weekend away together, So we had a nose at each others rooms - and all felt disappointed. The bed was very comfortable, but the room seemed tired, and needed... more

An interesting hotel. Our bedroom was very small but comfortable. Dinner in the evening was good as was breakfast in the morning. Not really our sort of hotel ,but that is a personal view and others may well feel differently. more

I really want to like the hotel du vin. The bar is good, the breakfast was wonderful, but this is a hotel that just manages to miss on so many things. The room was newly decorated, but for the £340 a night charge we expected something a lot more grand. This isn't helped by the website, which makes it look... more

We spent my husband's 50th Birthday weekend in Brighton, opting for Hotel du Vin. We were treated exceptionally well, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The location is fantastic too, just moments from lovely shops -- even if the Bistro's full, one can always select from some great restaurants closeby, including English's which served the most delicious fish and chips.... more

Having read the reviews this seemed like a no brainer to book for an evening, but first surprise was residential guests get no preferance to non residents booking into the bistro so I was forced to eat elsewhere, got back to find loud music blaring away under my room, it was a wedding in their function room that went onto... more

We stayed here for one night in February on a £105 special offer. We were given a very nice room with decking outside. The decor of the room was quite simple and sophisticated with lots of dark wood and white bed linen and a wide screen TV. The bathroom was warm and spacious and the shower was lots of fun... more
