Do not be swayed by the web site which makes the hotel seem in far better condition than it is. It smells in the foyer, we had elderly parents with us and they did not replace broken light bulbs failing on the staircases when asked. Our bathroom had tiles broken (photo), stains on all carpets and furniture and general condition... more

We stayed for one night at the hotel for a weekend away. W have no reason to ever return there. The decor was extremely old, the hoteliers had no interest in any of their guests except taking money from them. There were no facilities, ie bar, etc, the only welcoming feature of the rooms was a notice in the bathroom... more

Most hotels/guesthouses in Brighton want minimum of two nights at weekends, which we couldn't do, so when this popped up as available for the one night I should have known there would be reasons why! Reception is at the top of the stairs on the first floor and we had to queue on the stairs which, for some reason, the... more

Like a lot of bed and breakfasts they have big and small rooms, all I can say is that we stayed in their biggest room overlooking the sea and it was a large pleasant room with a king size feather bed ,good sitting area , fridge, good size flat screen tv, parking was 5 pound per night, accomodation 85 pound ,... more

Upon arrival at the hotel it looked exactly as we had expected and as per the website. We had expected something old fashioned and cheap and cheerful, we had also expected it to be clean. The location is centrally located and so it is easy to walk to the Lanes and the pier etc. We were greeted by a pleasant... more

We got this hotel at short notice on a busy weekend so wasn't expecting much, but the owners and staff were lovely, very friendly. Its was very cheap incomparison to anything else in the area. The rooms were abit dated, but it gave it character which would probably fit with the age of the hotel. more

Loved our room (spotless and we loved the bed). They gave us sea view..... The "concierge" was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed about the town - even if it was already late in the evening. They don't have power shower. Breakfast? Bad. Just go somewhere else. more

Our room was clean, adequate, but a little tired. Checking in was a pleasant experience. Having read previous revues I was a little aprehensive of what I was letting myself into, but with everywhere else locally being fully booked, I had no other option. But both my wife and myself were pleasantly surprised. The room was quite small, as was... more

There was a four poster bed but the pillows and duvet smelt dirty they have seen better days.. No antiques just rubbish junk shop furniture.. Im no snob but room was dirty (especially behind the... more

Hotel was on the cheaper end for hotels in Brighton (£80 double/twin room per night). It is an old Victorian house kept extremely clean with beds changed daily . The room was fairly small but no problem and bathroom also an adequate size. The one possible problem is that the building is built high with many stairs and no lift,... more
