It must be a rather difficult task to take upon, converting a late Victorian residence into a hotel without being invasive and massively intruding on it's infrastructure and changing much of it's original charm and character; then if one is allowed to proceed with the alterations, how much is one actually allowed to change? These and possibly many other questions... More

I was back in Brighton for a 3 day conference, and decided to not stay at the usual hotel (as it seemed to be getting worse), and so stumbled across this one. I'd seen it from the outside due to previous trips. The reception staff were very polite and helpful, and the room was very well furnished. Water pressure was... More

This hotel has the perfect location! Right opposite the wheel and the pier you couldn't be closer! We stayed here for a hen do and it was so ideal! It's walking distance to everything and even has a nightclub in the hotel! Rooms are small but ideal! Breakfast is made to order and is fab! Staff are great! The views... More

The New Madeira is in an excellent location overlooking the big wheel and the peir, we sat outside for a very pleasant drink in the early evening. My single room was spacious and clean, I could open and close the window, and did not need someone to show me the room. It was not cheap at £54 without breakfast, but... More

Very nice people, located just accros from the Pier. The room we had was a SeaView. The decoration was nice but could use a little renovation. Breakfast was good. However, be aware that they have a disco on Fridays and you can probably hear the music. The window is not soundproof, so it could get noisy...

For a budget place to stay this is a gem! We stayed as a single sex group of 22 on a hen weekend and found the rooms clean and spacious. Beds were comfy, bathroom wasn't the biggest but showers were always hot which is a bonus. We stayed in a lovely room facing the sea and the big wheel, we... More
