I have been staying on and off at this hotel since 1999. Reception staff are helpful - But this time maybe it was the seashell theme (shells on the swirly orange hall carpet and shell door handles on the bathroom), the cold room or the tinned gratefruit at breakfast - in future I think I deserve something better! more

We had family visiting us over Easter and live in Brighton. We needed a good quality central hotel that would accommodate a family of 4, 2 adults,a 3 year old and a baby. I booked a family room at The Old Ship Hotel, for the bargain price of £89 incl of tax and breakfast. The room was very large, more... more

We booked this through lastminute.com's Top Secret Hotels and when I read the reviews I was mortified and really worried. However, when I rang to confirm the day before I asked to be given a refurbished room and we were. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised given how worried we'd been. The room was large, recently decorated (if not... more

I have just returned from a Business trip to Brighton. Brighton in winter is one boring place. Everyday, after leaving work at around seven PM, I found nothing but a restaurants and bars to choose from and absolutely nothing else to do. Maybe in summer there is more to do here, but I doubt this could rival other beaches I've... more

Was a little worried after booking that I'd seen some bad reviews mentioning noise & un-refurbished rooms on here. Contacted the hotel management & was given a great room (newly refurbished) on the side of the hotel & on a higher floor, where it is quieter. The room was of an excellent standard, very good modern decor & facilities. OK,... more

We booked the New Year Eve dinner at a cost of 70 pounds per head. The champagne reception was a joke. We had to buy and collect our own wine, pay cash and they ran out of our chosen wine after 2 bottles. The soup was cold and little of it ( 3 table spoons appeared to be the norm)... more
