Right...lets get something straight. There are obviously some bad rooms in this hotel, however, my wife and I stayed on floor 4 with a room with a balcony facing the sea. It was FANTASTIC. Unfortunatley the hotel has a taxi rank directly outside which is used by the Night club leavers at 3 am on Fri & Sat nights. The... more

Before staying at this hotel on business I had looked at the images on tripadvisor and saw how dirty and old this hotel looked . However nothing had prepared me for the reality. It was disgusting . The main parts of the hotel are deceptive , clean and nice , but the room was like something from a bad film... more

Claims a "5 star" rating but more like a 3. Great location is its best claim. Pre-paid non-refundable 99 pounds for 1 night , not worth the price. Tired old exterior -peeling paint and dirty windows. Carpets, wood floors, décor & furniture old & worn. Understaffed. Room – NO air conditioning despite ad. Shower tiles & curtain mildewed. more

had read reviews so upgraded to premier room. The room was large and had great sea view. However was in desperate need of a refurbishment and looked tired. Bathroom was like a hospital one. The shower head needed adjusting to work properly and there was hairs in the bath. The room itself had poor lighting. On the plus side bed... more

Got a good deal at only £80 a night. (Room 227) We stayed 3 nights and as usual at the Ship, checkout staff were polite and friendly. First room smelt of cigarette smoke. Went back to reception and we were offered another room - with a sea view! Bonus! The Ship is a good hotel, the location is one of... more

I stayed at The Old Ship Hotel last night and would definitely recommend it. The internet rate of £69 for a single room (inc breakfast) was fantastic value and although parts of the hotel could do with modernising, I had a very comfortable nights sleep and a hearty breakfast this morning. I travelled with some friends and we all felt... more

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights (9th/10th June 2009). The hotel is easy to find and it is in a great location along the seafront very close to the pier. We arrived at 1130am and were able to park in their garage which is accessed just around the corner of the hotel (£15 a night... more

The Old Ship Hotel is just as Brighton is: somewhat run down, but overall it is ok. The hotel is centrally located at the seafront, just off the pier. Our room was fine, it was as clean as a British hotel can get, the bathroom and the carpet looked somehwat used and the building definitely needs new paint! The building... more

Went here for two nights with 3 friends, great location, noisy at night though. Rooms were clean, windows and net curtains were not clean, beds very comfortable. One thing i would say is the drinks were very very expensive, so would advise not drinking in there, we had an evening meal included in our break, must say the meal was excellent. Breakfast average.... more

We stayed here on the 24th May 2009 as we had tickets for a band on at the Brighton Centre that evening. The hotel is about five minutes walk away so really convenient. We arrived about 4 o'clock to find that the "first come first served" parking was all gone but after driving around for about 20 minutes (the NCP... more
