In the 1980s, this might have been quite the place but it is terribly tired now. I didn't have a seaview room but I reckon the view would be great so might be worth considering. If like me, you didn't have that, you look out on to fairly forgettable buildings and you could be anywhere. I suppose it's quite handy... more

Thank you for your comments. Our Seaview Rooms all give full views of the seafront and are larger bedrooms. Due to demand we have also introduced side Seaview rooms’ aswell. I was disappointed that you found the hotel tired as on the interior we have undergone a major refurbishment in all areas. Most major things within Brighton are at most...

Organised 100 work colleagues to stay at the Holiday Inn for 2 days in September. The hotel staff were amazing, from beginging to end. They organised everything from accommodation, dinner, disco, meeting rooms ect. The smooth running of our 2 days was completly down to the staff. I cannot fault anything. Rooms superb for all 100 of us, food great.... more

This is quite possibly the worst Hotel I have stayed in. Definitely one for the "Hotel inspector" The first thing they hit you with is an additional £15 charge just to park your car in the Hotel's car park for the night. The en suite bathroom was in a nutshell falling to pieces and in great need of "updating" .... more

I am always surprised when guests do not book inclusive breaks then negatively give feedback about this. I would always strongly advise to all guests that they book breakfast or dinner inclusive if they will be taking these items as our pricing will always make this cheaper. Alternatively perhaps it would be better to read package inclusions on booking stage....

Brighton really needs a good hotel. Unfortunatley this isn't it. There's quite a bit of muck around this hotel and a few dubious habits. The main one is giving 'filtered' water in your room and on conference tables which tastes like the bottles have been filled from the tap. We chose to buy water from the shop down the road.... more

Thank you for your feedback. I am unsure what you mean by some of your comments but will where I can respond. We have moved to filtered water as part of our environmental policy and demands from guests. This policy avoids the use of unnecessary wastage of glass/plastic. If you received this in your bedroom then you must have been...

£99 midweek stay inclusive of breakfast Awful looking building which should never have got the go ahead from town planning...ex council estate perhaps?? Hotel downstairs, apartments on upper levels. On seafront with main road, so location can not be beat. Old run down hotel, 3 star. I paid for a partial sea view room and shouldnt have bothered, the windows... more

Thank you for your feedback. I agree in hindsight when planning was allowed that the design of the building had a shelf life but unfortunately currently there is little that can be done but in the grand scheme of things plans are in place in our ongoing rolling programme. There is high demand for guests to be able to see...

I wasn’t quite sure what to make of the Holiday Inn on the Brighton seafront. From the outside it looked like a fairground – the drive up to the hotel is lined with strange concrete balls in garish Holiday Inn green. Fortunately the large, comfortable room was more tasteful – neutral colours and modern art. But the TV gave me... more

I know the building itself is not the best looking building Brighton but thank you for your feedback regarding the green bollards at the front of the hotel. I am sorry the TV aerial was not plugged in when you checked in. All rooms are provided with one bar of soap, face cloths and bath/shower gel from dispensers as standard....

Stayed here for 2 weeks for business in April 2009. The location is ideal as you have the beach infront and nearby to the city centre. For food you have the option of the hotel restaurant but just beside it you have Preston Street where you have several restaurant form Indian, Turkish, Chinese, Steakhouse and kebabs. And for shopping you... more

Almost no sleep possible due to both the ambient noise from outside the hotel and noise from the other guests. One of my worst hotel experiences EVER. The hotel claims to have had a recent refurbishment, however, if this was the case, the designer chose a theme of "1980's Shabby Chic". I wish that I'd read some of the reviews... more

Thank you for your feedback and am disappointed you were disturbed during your stay. We finished the final stage of our major refurbishment in September 08 with the completion of the new revolving doors at the front of the hotel. There are no current plans to update the exterior of the hotel. In all rooms we display a no nonsense...

The hotel is situated on border between Brighton and Hove, but at a good location for the conference centre. The front rooms must have fantastic sea views but sadly I was given a back room. Staff are friendly but the whole place has a rather run down air about it. My bathroom needed renovating and the tv didn't work. The... more

I've had the misfortune to stay at this hotel for over 2 weeks now. After 24hrs I contacted my employer to request a move to a more suitable hotel. I've moved rooms over four times, so I've really got to know the hotel quite well. The hotel has problems relating to the following: Noise levels in the bedrooms - paper... more
