I only booked here as it was Marathon weekend and for £100 we could have a 4 person private room. The staff were friendly, but quality of hostel was far below what I would expect in 2014 as a world traveller. The room was small and clean, but the beds were of pretty low quality, the "private bathroom" was actually... More

"It's a bit rough and ready, everything is basic, but comfy and clean. Best thing was the atmosphere, really friendly staff who wanted to make your stay a good time. Top marks on value, not so much on location. I'd stay here again though, just for the fun of playing drunken ping pong at three in the morning"

Stayed here for three nights last week in a four bed hostel room, clean and friendly place. I loved the atmosphere when we got back from clubbing, cheesy chips at 4am and a hen party coming back ready to carry on the party, great night!

Stayed here as a last resort for a night out in Brighton. It says it's close to the clubs and pier however it's not even Brighton it's hove! You have to get a taxi otherwise it is a 30 minute walk to the clubs! The whole place stinks and the rooms are filthy with broken floors and beds! Rooms are... More

Excellent VFM but you get what you pay for. The facilities are best for this price in Brighton &Hove area. Table tennis full size table, cooking facilities am and evening etc. There is an outside rear garden/smoking deck which is a useful addition to any guest house. The public areas are kept very clean and tidy and the staff are... More

DO NOT HAVE THE COOKED BREAKFAST, it was the most disgusting thing I have ever attempted to eat. Wasn't very clean, staff were ok, location was handy for what we wanted... Thought it was a bargain as said £33 for three person room (£11 each) but then tried to charger £33 each. In the end £20 each. Wouldn't stay again,... More

If the above is what you want and, when you come to bed, you don't really care where you sleep just as long as you sleep - then this place will probably work for you. It was very cheap and, throughout the night, you could get late night snacks from reception - always good to help soak up the beer.... More

I stayed for the Labour conference. I am not a picky traveller, and I knew what I was letting myself in for when I booked somewhere for just over £100 for 5 nights. It was basic. Very basic. It was literally a bed, a bunk bed in a messy room with some long term residents. Not really a youth hostel... More

Please, bring a large cardboard box with you if you have booked a bed here, as once you check in and see what you are staying in, it may suddenly seem the better option ! Having stayed here for 4 nights recently, I can only say the place is an absolute horror story, it looks more like a resettlement centre... More

I recently stayed there for two nights and it was the worst place I have ever been to. Very unclean. Really bad bathrooms and its noth the 10min walk they claim its around a 45min walk to west Street. I advise that you pay a bit extra and try a hostel close to the pier, as there a many more... More
