I have stayed in many hostels before, but this was an absolute dive. Very unclean, toilets often unusable. Showers very mouldy - it took persuasion to even get into them. Breakfast was incredibly simple, but I wouldn't expect much different for the price. Overall experience would have been acceptable had they paid ME the value of the room to stay.... More

This was my first experience of staying in a hostel, and it will certainly be my last. Reception is very good, booking in was easy and we went off to our room. The room was on the very top floor up many staircases. At the top of the stairs we discovered that the bathrooms on our floor were out of... More

I had stayed at this hostel previous but never thought I would write or mention anything about the staff. Undoubtedly they are the best I have come across during my travels. The hostel itself needs a bit of work specially the showers, but apart from that I cannot fault the location and the excellent service I received from the staff.

My cousin and I stayed in this hostel for two nights and whilst Brighton was great, this hostel was dreadful. We didn't have high expectations of the hostel but when we arrived it was far worse than we had anticipated. The toilets smelt and were dirty, to the extent where we chose to use public toilets instead of using them... More

We stayed at journeys for the great escape festival in Brighton for 4 nights. Amazing, kind and helpful people that work and live there permanently. Beds are comfy, breakfast is good for value and the location is central to everything in Brighton like the seafront, Laines and train station. Had so much fun and would definitely go back! If you... We stayed one night for a place to crash after a gig. Our reservation was "lost" when we got there so we kindly waited for them to sort it out. When we went up to the room, our sheets and pillows were missing. The room and bathrooms were not clean and no toilet paper either. Room was shabby and not... More

Thank you for your response. We have numerous long staying guests, some staying for years at a time and this is the first time I've heard someone say that they have contracted 'Scabies'. This is incredibly surprising as our sheets are washed to the highest standards - you also say that you got this weeks after staying here so really,... More

I discovered this new hostel and thought I would give it a try due to it's location. I can safely say I will never be staying at this hostel again. I requested a bottom bunk when booking due to medical reasons, rang up and was told I have definitely been allocated one, only to be told when I arrived that... More
