Family visit ruined by unhospitality of reception staff. Requests made and agreed during booking were totally ignored. Questionable room hygiene, and draughty with tired decor. Poor communication skills of staff made visit uncomfortable and worse still, reception were far more friendly on departure than arrival? On the upside the location was great, close to the beach, great restaurants and shops.

We stayed two nights in August and perhaps because the Hotel was busy, the room we were given was very basic on the top floor. the lift took a very long time to get there and was claustrophobic. the bed was clean and fresh, but otherwise, the room was grubby. we had good sleep on a reasonable mattress but at... We were in Brighton for a friend's birthday weekend. Hotel was one of the few available at a price £135 a night which is value compared to London. On the plus: walking distance of Brighton and opp Hove Lawns. Nice helpful (East European) staff. On the minus: tired rooms, soft bed, faded furniture. Summary: a good place to crash if... More

I booked this hotel in May as a weekend away for my partner's 30th birthday. We had a class booked in Brighton for 10am on Saturday morning and so I decided to stay close to Brighton so that we wouldn't have to rush in the morning. I paid extra for an Executive room and I was really disappointed. Our room... More

Main plus - reception staff lovely - efficient and helpful , my single room spotless and comfortable with coffee making facilities, general feel of hotel - comfortable, well run and homely. Location excellent and part.of the Hove end with all its restaurants and nanoseconds from the beach huts and beach. Additional plus - being able to leave cases in hotel... More

The hotel is dated but it is very clean and well located. The staff are very professional, very friendly and accommodating. I had messed up my reservations, totally my own fault, these problems were dealt with swiftly and efficiently and I am delighted with the service i received. I would especially like to thank Dianah and Viktor. You were wonderful.

Very nice hotel, it is in hove not Brighton but very close to lots of restaurants and bars, a good walk along the front gets you into Brighton . The rooms are fine, a little dated but not bad. Good place to stay.

On arrival I was a bit disappointed as the scaffolding was somewhat off putting, but that aside when we got inside it seemed quite pleasant. I was travelling with two females and there was no way we could all get in the lift so the ladies took the lift and and I walked up to the second floor with my... More

We stayed for 4 nights, arriving on the 9th August and leaving on the 13th. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful and this applies to both Reception and room cleaning staff. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Imperial Hotel in Brighton & Hove mixes tradition and function with a light, fresh airiness. Its ideal position – at the end of the broadest of avenues – with its uncluttered outlook by the sea, is situated alongside Hove Promenade and The Lawns. This functional, exceptionally good value hotel is of the Regency period; its high ceilings and spacious bar and lounge are noticeable, as is its still, calm ambiance. The Imperial provides an excellent level of customer service and its conference facilities, coupled with a smart bar and an attractive restaurant, make it an equally popular venue for a variety of functions. Ample Parking is available on the street and surrounding areas using our low cost residential permit scheme at just £6.00 per day. We also offer spaces on a 'first come first served basis' on our hard standing area at £15 per day. The Imperial Hotel is the perfect choice whether you are visiting for pleasure or business! ... more   less
